Congregational Tower | An RHF Community

Congregational Tower is a subsidized housing community for seniors aged 62 and over in Chula Vista, California. The community offers 186 non-smoking apartments, comprising studios and one-bedroom units, with 16 of the one-bedroom units featuring ADA-accessible design including lower cabinets, wider doorways, and larger bathrooms. Each apartment includes a full kitchen, living and dining area, and full bathroom, with energy-efficient updates such as full-size appliances, LED lighting, and efficient plumbing fixtures.

Common areas at Congregational Tower include a community kitchen, laundry facility, computer lab with touchscreen computers, lounge and library, recreational media room with smart TV access to streaming applications, arts and crafts room, and an outdoor patio with gas BBQ. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire building and in all apartments. The building features two newly renovated elevators and 24-hour access to common facilities.

The community benefits from its location in Old Town Chula Vista, near shops and restaurants. The Norman Park Senior Center is within half a block, and a library, parks, police station, and Scripps Hospital are all less than a mile away. Public transportation is readily accessible, with a bus stop in front of the building and Circuit Shuttle service available free to senior residents Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Rent at Congregational Tower is based on income, with residents paying approximately 30 percent of their gross annual income, with HUD providing a subsidy for the remainder. Utilities including electric, hot water, trash, and WiFi service are included in the monthly rent; residents pay separately only for optional phone and cable services. The community has limited parking available on-site on a waiting list basis at no cost; additional parking is available in a nearby lot for $40 per month.

Congregational Tower welcomes pets, including fish and birds without deposit, and one small dog or cat per apartment with a $150 refundable deposit. The community is currently maintaining a waiting list for apartments and has a one-year lease requirement, though provisions are made for unanticipated move-outs.
