Compassus provides Medicare-certified hospice care in Sedona, Arizona and surrounding communities, offering compassionate end-of-life care that focuses on reducing suffering and promoting comfort. The program operates 24/7 with a physical office open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The hospice team manages pain and symptoms around the clock while emphasizing spiritual and emotional health. Care is provided wherever patients call home, including hospitals, nursing facilities, and personal residences. The foundations of hospice include nursing care with an emphasis on symptom management, practical assistance, and emotional support to help families make the most of their time together.
Compassus offers four levels of care delivered by a team of professionals to ensure dignity and comfort. Services include short-term inpatient respite care to provide relief for family caregivers, as well as ongoing grief counseling available to patients, families, and friends.
The program has received Community Health Accreditation Partner renewal status under the Hospice Standards of Excellence. Volunteers are integral to the hospice team, providing services such as reading to patients, preparing meals for families, and assistance around the home, with all volunteers receiving free training at the local office.
