The community was founded in 1999 by Clay and Ann Dahl, who established the first Colony Manor Assisted Living Home in Palmer with a vision of combining the comfort of home with the quality care of a 24-hour facility.

The community offers 24-hour staffing that includes an on-call Registered Nurse, Certified Nurse Assistants, trained Caregivers, and facility-specific Administration. Staff are trained to address the individual needs of residents, are CPR and First Aid Certified, and have undergone extensive background checks. Many staff members have been with the company for more than two years.
