Unethical company. I needed care for my special needs child and specifically asked for an employee that could commit to 3-4 months over the summer due to some major job and life issues taking place. The manager said she understood and would ensure the next employee understood the situation. She found a new employee who had just started with the company, and she agreed to commit to the time frame. I found out after only 3 weeks of the new employee working with us, the manager had asked the new employee if she would be interested in an HR position that was coming open. The manager did not let me know this could possibly happen, I found out through the grape vine. The caregiver had no HR experience, and it’s far harder to replace a caregiver than an office worker. Plus, the manager knew I needed coverage over the 3–4-month summer and committed this time frame to me but chose to keep me in the dark. The new employee told me she was not interested in the position and would stay with us. This turned out to be a lie and she was only stringing us along until the HR position was open. I believe the new employee did not want us to look for another caregiver because that would leave her without a position until the HR spot was open. After we left for the lower 48 for ten days, I came back and found out the employee had quit, saying she was struggling to take care of her own kids and work. This also turned out to be not true as she had started working in the HR position while we were gone. The manager did not even reach out to me after I called multiple times, I finally had to go into the office to see what was going on. That’s when I saw our former caregiver working in the office and figured out what was really going on. While I understand companies can reassign their staff as they want, the way this was handled shows a complete lack of transparency, communication, and respect for the families they serve. This company will put their needs ahead of you and your loved ones and will not communicate with you in any way while doing so.
