Colonial House has a beautiful atmosphere, very homely and comfortable. The staff are so accommodating, polite and helpful. This is a unique independent living facility. I can honestly say, the meals are catered for everyone’s taste. The rooms are clean and spacious!

Independent senior living at an amazing price! This is a little known gem in the area that provides a wonderful atmosphere for seniors with amazing food, as many activities as they’d want….or not, and a living space that is clean, comfortable and customizable. Colonial House provided a wonderful home for many of my friends and family. The food is home cooked daily and you can even bring your own car. Please consider if you or a friend/family member is in need of a downsize/independent living arrangement.

My mother was at Colonial House for 9 1/2 years! When asked if she liked it there her answer was “yes, I love it!” The staff cooked all her meals, cleaned her room and changed her linens weekly. What’s not to love when you get to that time in your life when you just don’t want to do those things anymore? The kitchen makes it a point to know each individuals likes and dislikes. The food is very good, plentiful and shared together around a dining room table. Mom really enjoyed sitting on the enclosed patio with all her “girlfriends” in warm weather. The security of knowing my mother was checked on and in a safe environment meant a lot, especially when I was out of town. Mother enjoyed the entertainment, her favorite was the musical folks who volunteered their time. When her eyesight began to fail a few years ago the staff was very helpful in making sure she got around safely and they were very compassionate. Colonial House was a blessing not only to our mother but to our entire family. I would highly recommend it. I have been told that it is the best kept secret in town…….but it needs to be shared! So let’s start saying instead…….it’s the best Senior Living Facility in town!

My mom lived at Colonial House for almost 10 years. It didn't take long before she settled in and loved it. CH only houses 18 residents, so everyone gets to know each other and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Years ago mom became the activities director getting the "girls" out to play dominos and other fun things, and in recent years held an exercise class twice a week. The manager is conscientious in scheduling musical entertainment and other activities, including community projects. The kitchen staff are terrific and very hard-working. They genuinely care about each resident and make it a point to know their likes and dislikes, interests, etc. The kitchen manager makes sure that the residents receive nutritious, balanced meals and they are delicious. CH is more like a family than an independent facility and you notice it as soon as you walk in. After mom relocated to Parkersburg, it was a huge relief to my sister and me knowing that mom was safe and happy and that was thanks to Colonial House and the people in it.

This is the best place to go where you want to make new friends eat the best food and have the most fun. I've been volunteering here for years and the director is the most nicest person ever. The kitchen manager cooks the most best food you could ever eat. There has been so many new ladies here that I've met that's been so nice to all the other residents and there's a house cat that is so sweet and loving to all the ladies. This is the place to go if you want really good food. There's a activity room where they play games and it's very clean here. All the employees are nice to everyone and have fun doing their job.
