A great place to live. Apartments are individualized when you move in. Dinning options are excellent. Services such as maintenance are outstanding. Very conveniently placed next to downtown Rochester and the Mayo Clinic. Indoor access to all of downtown allowing comfortable routes even in inclement weather. A wide range of activities available. Bus service to all or Rochester and entertainment. The neighbors are friendly and interesting. We are extremely happy to live here.

Love this place! Friendly, straight forward staff, homey feel, dining room prices/quality can't be beat! Special emphasis on health and fitness for residents is a big bonus.

Great services for seniors looking to live on their own. Close to hospitals, shopping, museums, event centers. Shuttle service available. They also offer a variety of classes, seminars, and lectures. Building layout can be confusing. Food is okay but there are plenty of options for ordering in from or going out to restaurants.

My wife and I have lived at Charter House for the past two and one-half years, having come here from North Carolina and New York State. I must say that we have been wonderfully pleased. We looked at retirement communities in other states including North Carolina, Florida, and in the Virgin Islands, and found that Charter House far exceeded the others. It is owned and operated by the Mayo Clinic. There are more activities that we can possibly do, certainly something for everyone. We especially like the plays and activities available at the newly renovated Civic Center, the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, the numerous activities in-house, and the ready access to churches, restaurants, malls, the public library, and many other venues, available by the extensive subway (tunnel) system. Consequently, one does not have to go outdoors frequently during the winter months. While we did keep our car,which is in an enclosed garage on-site, the Charter House Van takes us wherever we wish to go. Of course, our health needs are met in the Mayo Clinic, which is just steps away via the enclosed subway system. Most of all, we have met many wonderful Residents, from all walks of life who make it truly our home. The Staff is truly wonderful, and we would strongly encourage anyone interested in retirement communities, to contact the Charter House. Come and see us! Dr. Frank and Betty Farrell

The Charter house has been such a blessing for my Mom. When my Dad passed away, we worried like any other family about how my Mom would react. There is no doubt the Charter house was the right place to be. They have great programming for all the residents and there location downtown could not be better. The staff is top notch and you can tell all the residents there are truly happy!
