Century Assisted Living I

Century Assisted Living I is an assisted living community with Alzheimer's-certified memory care in Carbondale, Illinois. The community operates as two single-story homes designed to provide a personalized, family-like environment where residents are known by name and routine rather than treated as room numbers.

The community offers nursing staff on site 24/7/365, with medication management and care plans reviewed quarterly and whenever needs change. Care spans five defined levels, from a secure environment for mostly independent residents through hospice accommodation. The single-story design with no elevators supports orientation and calm for residents living with memory loss, particularly those with Alzheimer's disease.

Residents have access to private rooms, fresh locally sourced meals, and daily activities. The community is pet-friendly. The intentionally small size allows staff to know each resident well and notice changes in health or behavior because they understand what is normal for each person.

Located at 701 South Lewis Lane in Carbondale, Century was founded by brothers Richard and Patrick Fogleson after their search for appropriate memory care for their mother. The community welcomes residents and families from Carbondale, Murphysboro, Carterville, Herrin, Marion, De Soto, Makanda, Anna, and across Southern Illinois, with proximity to the facility supporting frequent family visits.
