After much research on senior living facilities for my father, my sister and I chose Castlewood. Our father is 92 and lived on his own for far longer than we felt secure with. Castlewood offered assisted living with so many wonderful amenities. He has is own apartment, but there is always a nurse on staff that administers all of his medications, checks vitals on a regular basis, makes sure he’s eating regularly, getting enough exercise and just taking care of his well being. There is also a doctor on staff that they can refer to. Meals are provided is the dining room and the food is prepared daily. Not your typical cafeteria food, but so much better. There are activities on the schedule that residents can participate in on a daily basis. The staff is always so friendly and helpful and I was told there is hardly any turnover of employees. Yes, there is no doubt that it can be expensive. However, the care and wellbeing for my father is very important and that made all the difference for us. It’s very much like joining a community and definitely worth having our father there.
