Mom has the greatest care here. The attendants who cook clean take care of mom are such kind dedicated women. The home is always clean. Mom is always clean and her hair is braided. The food is cooked there. The atmosphere is very much of a caring happy place. Its the best place for a loved one! The people at Saca De Paz are ki d, considerate and genuinely care about thier residents. Mom has even gained weight, shes off high blood pressure meds. Its a really great place!

We were so blessed to find Casa de Paz for my mother-in-law. The caretakers, cook, and owners are wonderful people who truly care about our loved ones and treat them like family. We couldn't ask for better care and they work in conjunction with Hospice, when needed. The cost was competitive or better than other facilities. Thank God for this home.

If you are looking for a cost effective place for your loved one, but are unable to afford one of those "ritzy" facilities and have concerns about care giving methods and procedures, then this is a place for you to consider. My aunt was staying at one of those "ritzy" places and it was very expensive. When we first moved her into the "ritzy" place, the assisted living was affordable, but as she needed more and more assistance taking care of herself, and then having to move to memory care, it became too expensive. So, we moved her to a "home", in other words, a group home for senior assisted living where she received much more one on one attention with a lot of love. My aunt loved it there. The caretakers at Casa de Shalom, a/k/a Casa de Paz, were so fabulous. When my aunt was on hospice, they would make sure hospice was doing their job, and if they didn't, I could be sure to get a phone call from them, letting me know if they had any concerns. I thank God for them, because I work full time and also take care of my 86 year old mother. Time was always a challenge for me. The staff proved to me over and over again how much they cared with every decision they made while my aunt was in their care. After my aunt's passing, there was so much emotion shared by these caretakers; they shared their sadness and tears so that I, myself, no longer felt alone in this loss. The home was cozy and the meals were home cooked. The living area/TV area and the kitchen shared an open floor plan. Large windows in the living area showed the large backyard and gazebo. It was a nice, clean and cozy place for my aunt to live out her remaining days prior to her passing. I highly recommend this place! Thank you all so much! xoxo, Ramona

My mother lived at Casa de Paz for 4 years and 5 months, until she passed at age 101. Their motto is "Our family serving your family" and that is literally true. They are not corporate, which makes all the difference! The house where my mother lived is full of light, with skylights to make the livingroom cheery. Meals are served at a common table, which gives it a family atmosphere. The cook is delightful, and works hard to make nutritious and appealing meals. She knows the preferences of each resident. There is a sunny, common garden, which serves two houses, situated back to back. Even the health professionals who came to visit my mother said this was one of the best assisted living facilities they had seen. Most of all, the caregivers serve with love, which is something money cannot buy. In the whole time my mother lived at Casa de Paz, I never heard a harsh word or saw a exasperated look from any of the caregivers. If you can get your loved one into Casa de Paz, you are blessed!

When my mom’s health began to decline our family was no longer able to care for all of her needs ourselves. We searched high and low for a place that we could trust to help with both her physical needs and the special needs from her dementia. At our first visit to Casa de Paz we could tell we had found that place, and in the over 2 years she lived there they proved again and again that we were right. Casa de Paz, which I lovingly refer to as simply The Casa, became a second home not only to my mom, but also to her husband, and myself. We became a family and a team all there to support my mom. They knew exactly what resources to add to her care plan through every stage of my mom’s health needs, whether that was physical therapy, traveling services (dental, podiatry), or eventually hospice care. The Casa family went above and beyond to make the years she spent there special. I’ll never forget how they made sure my mom could be part of my wedding. They hosted a dress viewing event where I got to try on wedding dresses in front of my mom and other residents. They also made sure she had all the equipment she needed to go out for the actual wedding. As they helped her get ready for the big day they shared in her excitement. One of the staff members even attended with her to make sure she was ok. I spent a lot of time at the Casa at all hours of the day and night and observed many things. I heard the house manager telling the residents she loved them when she got them ready for bed. I saw people coming in on their days off to say hello to the residents. I saw the pleasure they took in spending time with each resident, doing their hair or nails or just talking about their lives. I saw the cook do her very best to make meals each resident would like. Every interaction I witnessed between staff and the residents was full of respect. I’ve worked in nursing homes throughout my career and, unfortunately, what I just shared is not always the norm. I was so relieved to find the Casa family whom I could trust with my mom. When my mom passed, I could tell they will genuinely miss her. And I will genuinely miss them. When you are in need of assisted living, these are the people you can trust with your loved one.
