ActivCare at Bressi Ranch provided my mom with dignity, respect, nurturance, love and kindness as we navigated her final years with Alzheimers. The resident caretakers are exceptional and made her feel like she was part of a community. When she first arrived, she was able to engage in all of the activities. She especially loved the music programs and the morning yoga routines. They also allowed her to bring her small organ into her private room (with headphones to not disturb other residents) so that she could continue to play music and have her "best friend" with her. The activity directors provided daily engagement so she never sat alone in her room. It was so convenient to have their amazing "in house" doctor take care of her medical needs so we did not have to transport her to medical appointments. When we had questions or concerns, the executive team would meet with us in person (or on zoom for family members out of town) to address our mother's needs. Also, the surrounding neighborhood has a beautiful park, Peets coffee and nearby restaurants that I could take my mom on walks, when I visited, which made it so convenient to do personal outings. As she progressed through the stages of memory loss, they continued providing the daily support she needed until the very end of her life treating her with the upmost respect. I am very grateful for all the staff that made my mother feel well loved and would highly recommend ActivCare at Bressi Ranch.

In the long and painful process of searching for memory care for my dear sweet high functioning mother, ActivCare Bressi Ranch initially seemed like the right place. She passed their evaluation and was told she was a good fit. We completed the deposit and paperwork and believed she would be admitted. The next day, without warning and with no explanation, they reversed their decision and declined her. My mother was accepted one day and denied the next, and ActivCare has never explained why. They have never identified a single need my mother had that they could not meet, even though she had already passed their own evaluation. This was not just a disappointing experience. Their sudden reversal affected my mother’s final years. It was devastating during an already overwhelming time. Families deserve clear communication when making difficult decisions under pressure, and we were left with none. Your response still does not answer the core issue. My mother was evaluated, accepted, and told she was appropriate for your program, and then abruptly declined the next day with no explanation at all. Saying “sometimes we cannot accept everyone” is not an explanation. It avoids the question of why you reversed your decision overnight after telling us she was a good fit. Families cannot make informed choices when a facility will not clearly communicate the reasoning behind its own decisions.

A Heartfelt Review of Active Care Bressi Ranch When my wife was first diagnosed with Alzheimer's, our family was utterly lost. We didn't fully understand the disease or know what the "right" next steps were. Everything felt overwhelming and scary. After doing a lot of due diligence on various senior care facilities, we chose Active Care Bressi Ranch, and from the very first conversation, they were a beacon of calm and compassion. The staff took the time to walk us through our options with patience and expertise, reassuring me and my entire family that it was going to be okay. They made us feel heard, supported, and confident that my wife would be in the best possible hands. It was that initial process alone that turned our panic into hope. What truly sets Active Care Bressi Ranch apart is their incredible staff. You can see it in the little things. I'd often walk in and catch them braiding my wife's hair, chatting with her softly, or just sitting with her during quiet moments. It's clear they don't just do a job; they truly care about each resident as if they were family. And it shows in how seriously they take hiring. The team is professional, attentive, and always going above and beyond. Overall, my experience at the facility was nothing short of exceptional. I always felt at peace knowing my wife was safe, engaged, and loved there. If you're navigating the challenges of Alzheimer's or senior care, I can't recommend Active Care Bressi Ranch enough. They didn't just provide care. They gave me back some peace of mind during one of the hardest times of my life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 5/5 stars!

ActivCare has competent and friendly staff who know the residents individually and care for them with compassion. There are 3 meals and two snacks every day with individualized extras as needed. The grounds are beautiful and the resident's areas are clean, cheerful and designed thoughtfully. The staff were helpful to me and very kind. The facility is located in a lovely area of Carlsbad California and it is easy to take your loved one out on walks around the beautiful gardens and upscale businesses. The nursing staff are excellent and knowledgeable.

Our neighbor recommend us to Activcare Bressi Ranch where he has a family member under their care. We are grateful that he did. With their professional and compassionate care my mother returned to here healthy, active and happy self . Moving her to a memory care facility was a hard decision to make but a easy one to know was right. With their loving care, new friends, and a regular schedule of activities she thrived. It allowed me to be just her son and not the person giving medicines, keeping her from wondering off and all the things that with dementia led her to question if I was her real son. And with a return to a regular Mother Son relationship I was able to take her to the beach for walks, out to eat and otherwise just enjoy each others company. That is a gift I’m deeply grateful for. Not only are nurses and care staff wonderful, but also are the kitchen, maintenance and administrative staffs. Everyone interacted with her has if she were their own mother or grandmother.
