My experience working for BrightStar Care was frustrating due to poor communication, scheduling issues, and lack of support for caregivers. On my first day, I paid for a Lyft ride to a client who lived about 40 minutes away. When I arrived, another caregiver was already there and working the shift. As a result, I had to pay for another Lyft ride all the way back home. This cost me both time and money because of a scheduling mistake that was not my fault. Throughout my employment, communication from the office was inconsistent. I submitted an incident report regarding a client who was verbally aggressive toward me, but I never received meaningful follow-up about the situation. Weeks later, the same client was placed back on my schedule without anyone contacting me to discuss my concerns or the report I had submitted. I also experienced scheduling issues after informing the office of my availability. My schedule was cleared, and later a shift was added without anyone notifying me. Because my schedule had previously been removed and I was not contacted about the change, I was unaware that I had been assigned the shift until I began receiving messages about it. I enjoyed helping clients and building relationships with them, but the communication from management and scheduling staff often felt disorganized. Many of the problems I experienced could have been avoided with better communication and follow-up. Caregivers deserve to feel supported, informed, and respected, especially when reporting workplace concerns.
