BrightStar is a great agency for the folks that need assistance. Gary responds quickly to my texts; communication is wonderful. The companion that works with my sister, Yumeka, is phenomenal. She engages with my sister beautifully. She provides stimulation for my sister who truly needs it. Even the nursing home staff gave her kudos!! I highly recommend this agency!!

We looked at several area home care businesses for my mom who was coming home from a lengthy hospitalization. BrightStar was very flexible on our schedule and had a very reasonable rate. Where they stand out is in the care - the aides are empathetic, helpful and reassuring as my mom recovered. I can’t recommend BrightStar enough.

Extremely unprofessional. I contacted this company with 2+ weeks notice to set up appointments for my 90 year old grandmother who will be living with us for the holidays. Two days before the first visit, I called to confirm that all the proper information was received and was told that we were ready to go. At 5pm the evening before they were supposed to come (at 9am), I received a voicemail saying "it didn't look promising that anyone would be able to make it until the following week..." They had no "back-up" aides available and had an "unprecedented amount of people calling out sick." I am a Doctor myself, and had to call out of work for my own patients to stay home and take care of my grandmother. I would never recommend this company to any family, friends, or patients due to their extreme unprofessionalism and lack of communication. Cannot say anything bad about the aides themselves; as they never arrived.

When my father suddenly became ill, my wife and wanted him cared for at home and tried to care for him ourselves, when we thought he had suffered a small stroke, it quickly became clear to us that we were going to need help with his care, as he became weaker. After being admitted to Danbury Hospital, on a snowy day in December, we found that he had not had a stroke at all, but was now diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and that he would need 24 hr care. His only real request of us, was to let me live out his days in his home, with his loyal dog, by his side. The only way, we could have managed this was with the help of BrightStar Care, of Danbury. When James came to Tom's hospital room, to talk to us about having BrightStar's team of caregivers, in his home to care for him, in coordination with Regional Hospice we felt confident that they were the right organization to help us. The day we brought him home, Elena, I'll call her our care coordinator/Angel, met us at the house, with the most capable caregiver, Wendy, who right away had a phenomenal connections, with Tom. She set the tone for our whole experience. When we went home to rest that night, we were confident, that the proper help that we all needed, was finally in place. The next few weeks, would introduce us to our "Team" of care givers, who not only gave Tom excellent care, but they were there for me and my wife. they were so comforting, letting us know his needs and keeping us abreast of his condition and helping us to know what to expect as the end was approaching. Along with Regional hospice we had a formidable team of caregivers that empowered us to give to my Dad, who always strived to provide the best of everything for his family and friends, the very best end of life experience, he could have had. Things happen very fast and if you have people that can get a handle on things for you, you then can give the time and energy to your loved ones, so much better! Instead of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, they allowed us to rest and regroup, every night so that we could enjoy the precious little time that we had left with the most important man, in our lives. We will always be indebted to this amazing organization of caring and compassionate individuals, that have dedicated themselves to the loving care of human beings.
