Beware...Beware...Beware!

This is by far the worst senior living facility our mother has lived in. If your loved one is wheelchair-bound or requires significant assistance, I strongly recommend asking very detailed questions about the level of care before considering this facility.

Our mother has been at Claiborne of Acworth since November 2025. We were assured that her care would improve, but unfortunately, that has not been our experience. One of our biggest concerns is that the same staff members responsible for caring for residents also work in the dining room. During meal times, it can be extremely difficult to get someone to assist a resident in their room.

Our mother has repeatedly been left on the toilet for 45 minutes to an hour before receiving assistance. We have also experienced instances where staff members have been rude and disrespectful toward her. On one occasion, a staff member reportedly told her, "No one likes you and many of us complain about having to come help you." When she hits her button in the middle of the night for help, no one comes. She laid in the floor for a couple of hours one night after falling trying to get into her wheel-chair. She has had to resort to pulling the red cord at times to get someone to help her. One of the caretakers told her "do not pull the red cord!" Which made mom cry because she has no other option but to pull the red cord.

That kind of treatment is completely unacceptable, especially toward a vulnerable resident who depends on staff for basic care.

We have only met with the Director once. Unfortunately, we did not feel that our concerns were met with an appropriate level of urgency or empathy. She frequently does not return our calls or emails, and we are often told that she is in a meeting. Communication with families should be a priority when there are ongoing concerns about a resident's care.

There are one or two caregivers who genuinely seem to care about the residents, and we appreciate the efforts they make. The front desk staff, deserve special recognition. They have consistently been friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Prince has also been very helpful and is one of the few people who consistently follows through when he says he will call us back or help us with a situation.

Ultimately, we believe the quality of a facility starts with its leadership. Based on our experience, we believe there needs to be significant improvement in management, communication, staffing, and accountability. Families entrust senior living facilities with the care and dignity of their loved ones, and we expect that responsibility to be taken seriously.

Never received a call back and tried several times. If you can’t call people back when they’re looking at your facility, how could you be trusted with a Senior loved ones Care

Our experience at the Delaney was by far the best ever. Jabriel was so informative Respectful that my daughter signed a lease. He took his time and listened to what her needs and wants were. He is surely a valued employee.

Over the last year, Brickmont Ackworth has been a blessing to my 93 year old mother and our family. From the moment Mom arrived 10 months ago until now, the staff has been attentive and helpful. Mom’’s ongoing care has been very good - a caring staff. Robert was upbeat, positive, and a pleasure to with. Susan was also great to work with. The facility is updated well, clean with lots of light, a nice courtyard, wide hallways, and a large, cheerful dining room. The meals prepared by Chef Kathy were awesome. Well done Brickmont at Ackworth!
