Professional and attentive staff, took great care of my mom during her stay. Facility is clean and well run. Residents here stay busy and that's a reflection of the staff so many folks here are active.

Family experiences at Briarwood are notably mixed. Some families report deeply positive interactions, praising staff attentiveness and cleanliness, noting that residents stay active and engaged. However, other families describe serious gaps in care oversight, including long periods without check-ins, delayed response to call buttons, and inadequate supervision in hospice areas. Food quality and consistency of service have been criticized, with some residents receiving meals while others in the same room do not. One family wrote that they felt the facility was "active and caring" during their mother's end-of-life stay, while another reported waiting over seven hours after requesting assistance.

I have gone through many ups and downs with my mother. In and out of the hospital and nursing centers since January. I was looking for a change. Briarwood was that change. It was such and upbeat and postive experience. My mother was getting near the end of her life and this was the first place that I really felt that was active and caring. I applaud the staff and all the care that extended to my mother as well as myself. Mom eventually succumbed to her condition but I thank you for so much all you did! Stephen

Horrible. They will not come an check on you unless you call to be changed. Shifts change and no one comes to check. Meals being served, if you in first bed, you ok but person in second bed, they do not come and check so you do not get served. Food is horrible. Physical therapy is not focused on individual but group therapy. I called to be changed and I sat in urine and feces for over 7 hours. They do not come right away but you will get told your nurse is next door and out the door cnas go. I would not recommend this place to no one needing rehab.

I am writing this review based on my father’s stay at Briarwood Health Center. If my experience were based solely on two staff members, Tina (day shift) and Tonya (evening shift), I would give a much higher rating. They truly took the time to care for my father and showed him the attention, compassion, and respect he needed. I am very grateful for them. Overall, I would say I was satisfied about 70% of the time. However, the remaining 30%primarily on weekends was very concerning. During those times, the level of care noticeably declined. Nurses often appeared disengaged, frequently sitting on their phones instead of attending to patients. One evening, a patient walked out into the hallway in only a diaper, and I had to search for a nurse twice before someone assisted him. That should never happen in a care facility. The food quality was also very poor. Meals often seemed thrown together with little thought or nutritional balance. Communication was another major issue. Trying to reach the social worker, Kiarra, was extremely difficult. I came at various times to meet with her, but she was either unavailable, arrived late, or left early. When I called, the phone would ring, then transfer back to reception, where instead of taking a message, the call would be disconnected. This happened multiple times. I eventually had to leave a written note because I could never reach her directly. The discharge process was also poorly handled. On April 17th, I was told via text to pick up my father at 6:30 PM. When I arrived, the nurse on duty was not even aware that he was being discharged. The only paperwork I completed was for medication and insurance, which reflects a serious breakdown in communication. As of today, April 24th one week later I still have not received a complete discharge report. I have called and sent messages, but again, communication has been unsuccessful. Additionally, some of my father’s clothing went missing. I was told they would be replaced or reimbursed, but I have not received any follow-up. Most concerning, one of my father’s blood pressure medications documented in his chart was not administered during his stay and was not included in his discharge medications. Given that he is a stroke patient, this is extremely serious. Thankfully, no medical complications occurred, but the risk should never have existed. While there were a few staff members who provided excellent care, the overall experience was inconsistent and, at times, unacceptable. There needs to be significant improvement in communication, accountability, and patient care especially during weekends.

Walked in to visit a friend thinking that we would have a chat and brought some snacks to her. She was in the hospice area. As I walked in her room, I,ve noticed that something was really wrong. She was actively dying. No nurses around at all. The only time I saw a nurse is when they were called to check on her because we saw her till her last breath. Horrible place, rude nurses, they ignore your requests and nobody takes ownership of their jobs. If you have your loved one here, please take them out right away. All those 5 star reviews are more likely friends of management asking to rate them very high.
