I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank two truly wonderful girls working on the Braly Unit at Paulding Nursing and Rehab — Jenise and Nia. The care, kindness, patience, and compassion they have shown my mother has meant more to our family than words can fully express. It is not easy trusting others with someone you love so deeply, but these two have consistently gone above and beyond to make sure my mom feels cared for, comfortable, respected, and valued every single day. Their warm attitudes, gentle spirits, and dedication to their work do not go unnoticed. They treat their patients with genuine humanity, and that kind of care is rare and incredibly special. Jenise and Nia have both shown such professionalism while also bringing light and positivity into the Braly Unit. Whether it’s through a kind word, a smile, patience during difficult moments, or simply taking the extra time to make someone feel seen and heard, they have made a lasting impact on my mother’s experience and on our family as well. Knowing she is surrounded by people who truly care gives us peace of mind that cannot be replaced. I also want to extend my appreciation to all of the other staff members on the Braly Unit and throughout Paulding Nursing and Rehab. Healthcare work is demanding, physically exhausting, and often emotionally draining, yet so many of you continue to show up every day with compassion and dedication for your residents. It takes a very special type of person to do this work, and your efforts deserve recognition and gratitude. Thank you all for the hard work, long hours, patience, and care you give every day. Families may not always say it enough, but the love and support you provide truly matters. Jenise and Nia are shining examples of what compassionate caregiving should look like, and the Braly Unit is lucky to have them. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you do for my mother and for all the residents in your care.

It takes a special person to take care of others, It's not an easy job. My mom has been here for a couple of weeks now, and my dad and I have been taking turns checking in on her daily. I have to say, all the nurses we have met have all been very kind, especially the evening nurses (I normally go after work). They make sure her room is always clean and they treat her very well; she can be super sweet or hard to deal with, depending on the time of day, with her dementia. The food always looks appetizing, and there is usually a good movie playing in the common area. So far my mom seems to be doing very well at Paulding Center Nursing and Rehabilitation. I'll update if she moves from Rehab to Nursing.

My mom was there in December 2025. I first have to say that most of the day to day staff were very good and supportive. The food was awful. NO diabetic meals. Really? That alone I would hope would make such a place ineligible for payments from health insurance companies and Medicare. The integration of services was basically zero. The social worker at first seemed to be good at her job, but we observed directly that she seemed to not really do anything and certainly was not a help in any process. Maybe she has more work than any one person can handle. The phone system was broken and it would often hang up on you after exactly three rings no matter who you called there. Overall, the place is junk. I would never allow a friend or family member to be sent there. A friend of my mom visited a person there in about 2024 and she said it was amazing. She visited in December 2025 and told us it was completely different now (bad). All of that said, Margaret the Nurse Practitioner was GREAT! She was on top of her job at all times and made a big difference. It’s no longer owned or operated by Wellstar despite “Wellstar” still being on the building. My mom’s primary doc told us he got a complaint about the place from another one of his patients just two weeks ago.

This place is terrible. The facility looks like something out of a 1970's horror movie, smells like a gas station bathroom, and the care staff is mostly sitting around texting on their phones instead of interacting with the residents. Some management is great, others have an attitude and need to be fired. Food sometimes arrives very late while people sit around hungry. One day i was there and they were blasting 1980's dance music (for people in their 70's and 80's). Seriously??? DO NOT take your loved ones here. Trust me, you'll regret it.

This place is horrible all of the other negative post that I've seen I agree with 100% my mom will be 97 on Dec 10 and her mind and memory are very good. She has problems hearing. She'd been very sick and Douglas Wellstar for 17 days and it was recommended that she would go to rehab for three weeks for physical therapy. We got her there on a Monday late afternoon. We had family coming in a few times a day,but on the fourth day my husband got there early that morning and thank God he did. 911 was called and the paramedics had to start a IV and transport her to Paulding Wellstar hospital and she was admitted to ICU! Now their billing us for almost $900.00 because she was in the hospital for 8 days and not using the room. This all happened in October 2025 and they were still called the facility Wellstar! I've only found one rehab- nursing home that is nice and it's in Carrollton, but no beds were available. I don't know if we'll ever trust another rehab-nursing home again. Two rooms with two ladies in each room sharing one toilet and it's only a toilet no sink or shower.
