I have been visiting this facility for many years, I will say back in the day it was needing a bit of a face lift. I have had friends through the years that have stayed there some for short stays some for longer. I believe that this facility has improved greatly recently. I feel they are really trying to improve their image, and make it as inviting and happy as they can. Everyone I have encountered over the years have been very friendly. From the front desk ladies, director, and the staff, nurses, activities directors etc. I have read some of the reviews and feel that some are a little harsh with comments. I'm sorry you had that kind of experience but I have noticed as I have visited there many , many times that everyone is trying their best to make the people that have to be there feel welcome and loved. thanks for all you do!!

I have a great personal experience with Berthoud Care and Rehab. My grandmother was here long term care and she truly called it home. They staff is great and honestly care about the residents that they care for.

Most of the staff were unkind to my father. Nasty responses toward any assistance he needed (yet, that is why patients are there). Place smelled strongly of urine. Old building. Rooms too cold and small. Food was awful and overcooked. No outdoor space to escape noisy building or pleasant views outside for healing. He remained a hostage in the enclosed room. We had to bring our own end table. Minimal outlets for basics like cell phone and his CPAP machine. Worst rehabilitation experience ever according to him. I discharged him within 3 days and found care elsewhere.

Through my mobile notary business, Spot On Notary, I often meet clients in care facilities. During a recent appointment at Berthoud Care and Rehabilitation Center, I had a very positive impression. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the staff were kind, professional, and clearly attentive to the residents. Visiting many facilities through my work gives me a unique perspective, and this is definitely one of the nicer ones I’ve experienced. I would gladly recommend Berthoud Care and Rehab Center to families.

Mike was a client at the Center and received excellent nursing, physical, speech and occupational therapy during his months-long stay. The activities engaged all residents and family members. Meals were prepared especially for the dietary needs of each client. The social work staff helped facilitate insurance coverage and made sure Mike obtained his Veteran benefits. Staff also transported him to his outside medical appointments and kept family members informed. They prepared Mike for climbing stairs and walking a dog for his next transitional stay before he returned home to Sterling, Colorado. Outstanding care and well-skilled, caring staff and administrators. They facilitated miracles for Mike in his recovery.
