Charged more than expected on discharge.30 day notice not explained well. Ended up paying more than expected , including a 500 dollar cleaning fee. When questioned told to refer to contract signed 3 years ago.Even when changed from Benton house to Sage Grove. Beware !

Having had a family member recently removed from Benton House, I will not recommend the memory care unit. There is only one staff member to watch the residents. There are no activities, the rooms are not cleaned, the sheets not washed, and laundry not done often. Our loved ones with memory problems do not deserve this kind of care,

Having had several experiences with memory care facilities I can say however nice a place seems (upscale rooms, pretty garden, fun layout) the success of your loved one's experience comes down to the talent of the staff. Best words to describe the senior staff I encountered in the several months I had my mother attending day care are INEPT, UNIMAGINATIVE, and LAZY. You can imagine the kind of morale and culture that trickle down to the rest of the staff. Not a place I'd describe as warm or comforting. Go elsewhere.

Benton House of Lenexa is wonderful! The community is clean and bright, the meals are fantastic, many activities to include the entire community. The staff takes care of the residents as if they are their family member. Everyone goes Above and Beyond!

Benton House of Lenexa is phenomenal! My mother lived there for 2 1/2 years both in Assisted Living and Memory Care. She recently passed away, but the loving care she received was beautiful. The staff cried when she died. We will be forever grateful that she spent peaceful last days at Benton House.
