The staff made the stay as a family environment. They take the time to get to know individual needs. Not only was the health and rehab care excellent, their empathy is in abundance.

My father was a resident there, due to Alzheimer's Disease and Emphysema. He required oxygen 24 hours a day. He would sometimes remove the nose-piece to put ointment on his nostrils, as the nose-piece would irritate them, and, due to his Alzheimer's, he sometimes forgot to put the nose-piece back. Due to it being a Sunday night and the place was poorly staffed, my father died from lack of oxygen. He had pushed his call-button, but no one responded for a long time obviously, as he was found unconscious on the floor. My family still feels that my father would still be alive today if they had been better staffed! Even during the weekdays, there was always a long wait for someone to respond to the call button! We also noticed that several patients had to sit in soiled Depends--for quite a long time. Benedictine would be fine if they would just hire enough staff to meet the resident's needs!
