Our family is grateful we learned of Benchmark for our 98 year old mother. The staff in Rye NH infused her last years with love, kindness & personal care. The many activities helped to keep her engaged. Communication was ongoing, and easy to reach nursing staff or any individual with a phone call or email. They created a very special celebration to honor her 100th birthday! Thank you all for the gift of care.

Our mom lived here for the last two years of her life, including a Benchmark celebration of her 100th birthday last September! The team is so caring and attentive, from the aides and nurses, to the dining room staff and the administrators. We could not have asked for better care for our mom, including the hospice team that is available whenever needed.

I can't say enough good things about Benchmark at Rye. The entire staff has been amazing and I know my Mom is getting the best possible care on the Seacoast. Shout out to all the hard working nurses, aids, activities and dietary team for making sure Mom is healthy and thriving. You are the BEST!

After my domestic partner and the love of my life was checked in to Benchmark, which I chose, I was told by a nurse named Martha Jo (after 2 weeks) that my love now had a female companion and that it was best that I stay away . I had been his power of attorney and sole caregiver for three years before I asked his son for his help. I turned over power of attorney to him. I was treated as an insignificant bother and pest. His son met me at benchmark on Sunday after he was iimprisoned there for 3 weeks. He gave permission for me to see him whenever I wanted. I spent 3 hours with him that day and he cried,”I thought you abandoned me. They told me you were not coming back. I kept asking for you and they said you were not coming back “. Who said that? “The people here.” There’s more to this horrible TRUE story but I expect you get the picture. I’ve been an RN for more that 35 years and never would I tolerate that nurse’s behavior from my staff. Administration said they would talk to Martha Jo but I never heard a word back. He was more of her caregiver than companion. She was in a wheelchair and he, with a bad back, having PT for 6 weeks last summer, was transferring her into her or his bed. He was no longer participating in the community he was solely caring for her. Needless to say I found a new place for him and got him out of there. More than $12,000+ per month later.

My husband has been a resident at Benchmark at Rye for almost two years. Suffering from advanced Parkinson's, he has been very fortunate to be under the care of an outstanding nursing and personal care team - as well as a caring and creative team executing activities/programs for the residents. Dining services is well above par for the industry and the Maintenance team is outstanding. Senior management is extremely professional and caring and always working on improving the experience of residents. The most important issue is that the staff at Benchmark at Rye truly care and love their residents -- it is authentic and sincere. I highly recommend Benchmark at Rye for individuals in need.
