Beehive Homes at the Cortez Homestead is a memory care community in Cortez, Colorado, serving a maximum of 16 full-time residents in a smaller, home-like setting. The community is dedicated to providing care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, designed to offer an intimate atmosphere with enhanced quality of life.

Care services at the community include assistance with meals, activities, reminders and redirection tailored to individual needs. Caregivers are specifically trained on memory loss and managing higher levels of care needs, with RN care coordination and collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and therapies. Nursing services are available 24/7, and residents may remain at the home through end-of-life care, with hospice services enlisted as needed with family permission.

Each resident has a private bedroom with a private bathroom featuring an ADA shower. The community provides all housekeeping services and maintains a safe, clean living environment. Meals are prepared daily and are dietician-approved. Rooms can accommodate couples when available, and furnishings are provided or residents may bring their own. The home features a Southwestern theme both inside and out.

The community offers respite care for short-term needs, whether following surgery or illness, for vacation coverage, or for caregiver breaks. Respite residents enjoy the same furnished accommodations, three home-cooked meals daily with snacks, resident interaction, and activities as full-time residents. Visiting hours are adjusted to accommodate families and resident needs, and night staff remain awake and available to assist with any needs that arise.
