What a breath of fresh air.<br><br>When my mom passed away, we knew my dad would need more care than our family could provide on our own. We initially chose Legacy Village of Sugar House. While it may be suitable for independent living, we found it far too large and understaffed for assisted living. In our experience, the level of care was disappointing.<br><br>We then moved Dad to Spring Gardens–Holladay. The staff was caring and supportive, but as his needs increased, so did the monthly costs. What was presented as the maximum level of care expense quickly became the new baseline, with additional increases month after month. Eventually, we were told that Dad needed to transition to Memory Care to better meet his needs, which came with yet another significant rate increase. At that point, the cost exceeded what our family could reasonably afford, forcing us to look for other options.<br><br>Beacon Crest has been a completely different experience. The onboarding process was straightforward, pricing was fully transparent, and the contract clearly outlined costs through end-of-life care. The facility is clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Most importantly, the resident-to-CNA ratio is better than any other community we evaluated.<br><br>If you’re searching for a place where a loved one can live with dignity, receive compassionate care, and truly thrive throughout their remaining years, I would encourage you to start with Beacon Crest. I only wish we had found it sooner—it would have saved us a great deal of time, stress, and money.

We moved my father in about three months ago. He can be a handful with his dementia and occasional grumpiness. The people at Beacon Crest are just fantastic in how they deal with him and the things they do for him. The food is amazing and made from scratch daily. The building and rooms are just top notch and beautiful. We have been extremely pleased with every aspect of our father's stay there. I took the time to tour more than a dozen assisted living and memory care facilities across the Salt Lake Valley. Nothing compared to Beacon Crest. The great impression from the tour was backed up with the care my father has received. Our entire family is comfortable that he is in a great place and well taken care of. Thank you Beacon Crest!!

Choosing Beacon Crest was the biggest mistake we made regarding my 87 year old grandma's care.<br><br>We did our research and chose Beacon Crest because of our interviews with the staff, the fact they had a chef, the rooms were nice and because we were told that if my grandma needed additional care they could provide it. What we learned was Beacon Crest is full of empty promises and what is pretty on the surface is NOT what really happens at all. I believe lipstick on a pig is the correct expressionm<br><br>My grandma was there for only 5 1/2 months in that time things started fine routine care and things were ok. It only took 2 1/2 months for things to start going bad. First we found out that some their med techs were only 17 years old (they are supposed to be 18) and told us they were trained by their administrator who is NOT a medically trained person. So we were not willing to let them give her her medications which made the admins very angry. We came 2x daily to make sure she had her medications.<br><br>Then there was night she fell out of her bed, they let her fall on the floor - no one knew how long, because her life alert wasn't on for her to push and when a CNA came in at 4:30 am to change the kitchen garbage then bathroom garbage then found her on the floor. Just put her back in the bed didn't call a nurse or let us know she was was hurt (which she was badly). Thankfully we had cameras in the room and were able to see how all this transpired because they didn't disclose anything. My aunt thankfully saw the camera went and checked my grandma and grandma was complaining of pain in several places. She was able to rest for a bit but later in the afternoon the pain increased and when my mom got there a few hours later my grandma was crying in pain. The CNAs said Courtney the administrator told them that "she was ok" my mom and aunt called the paramedics and the paramedics were very concerned that they hadn't been called earlier by the care center. She had bruised ribs a terrible bump on her head and pretty bad bruises. Thank God it was nothing worse. Beacon Crest told us it would be $90 to transport her back home from the hospital (their shuttle and assistance) never heard of a care center charging a resident for transport. We brought her home.<br><br>After this the problems just got worse.<br><br>*Not regular toileting at one point 36 hours without changing (my grandma is 87 years old in an assisted living and needs help with this) lack of help with toileting and hygiene cause 3 UTI infections which are so dangerous to the elderly.<br><br>*we were told by a CNA that Courtney told them they were to do nothing for her<br><br>*her health progressively got worse. Yes we know she is old but there was drastic lack of care and empathy - I cant imagine how bad it would have been without the cameras<br><br>*every single medical order including home health had to go through Courtney (administrator) again NOT a medical professional<br><br>Sept 15 my grandma received an eviction letter stating that she needed too much care and that we refused to let them administer medications.<br><br>Very important - as stated above - we were going 2x daily to give my grandma her medications. This wasn't about medication, this was because Courtney didnt like that they weren't giving the medication. We also documented all medication given on a chart for Beacon Crest.<br><br>Also, in the contract it stated if she needed additional care they would and could provide it but she was evicted with 30 days notice to find a new care center.<br><br>Side note I didn't even get into the inappropriate activities like wet T-Shirt contests for the elderly (4th of July) or swimsuit contest (July 5) or the 6 weeks after that with absolutely no activities.<br><br>Please look out for your loved ones and DO NOT send them to this awful place that harms, neglects and exploits the elderly.

Words can’t describe how wonderful Beacon Crest is. My parents moved in there almost 3 years ago. My dad passed earlier this year and my mom has remained there. The staff, from Courtney and Julie to the CNA’s and nurses on staff are all wonderful truly caring individuals!! I would 100% recommend Beacon Crest to anyone who is looking for an assisted living facility for a loved one!

Absolutely gorgeous assisted living facility! Everyone I met was so friendly and helpful. The staff are all so sweet and attentive to the residents and I'm happy knowing that my friend is in such great hands here.
