This facility is not a place to put your loved ones. The acuity of some of the patients is far too great for the staff that they have. Corporate continues to send patients from other towns that no one else will accept. There is not enough staff to provide adequate care to the patients. They will not increase pay for the direct care staff to try to retain or entice staff. They only care about numbers and not people.

Reynalda Juarez and the highly skilled nurses gave my brother a second chance at life. He was discharged to Childress after refusing a second amputation at another hospital. Thank goodness he was! The nurses treated the leg every single day and he never had to lose it. He was far from family, and we were fortunate to find in Childress a nursing home that was also a hospital with a high level of care. My brother's mental illness was treated there for the first time in his life. He was kept clean and shaved and enjoyed frequent haircuts. Reynalda was a maternal presence; her office was always open to him and he knew he had a friend. When she said, "He is family to us," I knew she meant it. She treated him with respect and lovingkindness. Together the staff created a stability he had never known. We are grateful to all of you.

Childress Healthcare center is a wonderful place. I have many friends who live there and the activity Director, Donna Brown is exceptional!! I would recommend this facility to anyone. It definitely rates 5 Stars!!
