About Aunt Dottie's Place

Aunt Dottie's Place is a small residential care home located in a quiet neighborhood in Roseville, California, with a sister home in Orangevale. The community offers personalized elderly care, memory support, and assisted living services in a home-like setting, caring for no more than six residents at a time so that care can be tailored to each individual's needs.

The community operates as a non-medical residential setting for seniors who need help with daily activities but do not require 24/7 skilled medical attention from a nurse or doctor. Care plans are built around each resident's preferences, strengths, and lifestyle goals, with staff coordinating closely with families during move-in and throughout a resident's stay, including support through medication management and transitions into hospice care when needed.

Daily life includes group activities such as singalong sessions, along with nutritious meals prepared for residents. The home includes a backyard and pool area that has been used for family gatherings and visits, and residents live within a residential neighborhood setting that maintains a home-like rather than institutional atmosphere.

The community emphasizes cleanliness and attentive staffing, with caregivers working to support residents with conditions such as dementia and other advanced health needs while maintaining dignity and respect. Aunt Dottie's Place is positioned as an option for families seeking a smaller, more individualized alternative to larger memory care or assisted living facilities in the Sacramento County area.

My 83yo father had fallen and broke his hip beginning of March. After his initial stay at a rehab facility, we had chosen Aunt Dottie’s Place for a board and care facility. He was there 2 months. He was treated like family by Abraham, John and Lisa. They were very attentive to my father’s needs. The food was delicious. The staff was there every step of therapy in the goal of my father going home. He is back home but still misses everyone at Aunt Dottie’s.

I had my mom in a larger memory care but realized she needed more attention than the larger memory care could offer. They have no more than 6 tenants and the care is definitely more tailored to suit the individual needs of each individual. Mom isn’t getting lost in the larger memory care. If she refuses to eat or to take her meds, the caregivers are very patient and they try again. Dementia is a cruel disease. I feel like the caregivers here treat my mom with the dignity and respect that is often lost in larger facilities. My mom’s room is always clean. Her bedding is changed often - we had issues with this at the larger facility. I am thankful to have been referred to Aunt Dottie’s Place.

Salam and the team at Aunt Dottie’s are very respectful and professional. They have treated my mother will care since she arrived and have given me peace in knowing she is safe. As she has late stage dementia, this matter is extreme important to our family, and we are grateful for Aunt Dottie’s care.
