After a few in-person visits to multiple memory care facilities in the region, we chose Astoria for my Mom to be placed into memory care. As of this writing, she has been there about one month. What sets Astoria apart is the people. The staff is genuinely caring and compassionate, and that's not something you can fake when you're watching it day to day. The nursing care team has provided attentive and individualized care. Mary Anne in particular has been great to work with and has given a lot of individual attention to my Mom and her needs. Executive Director Mark has also been personally engaged with our family. His influence sets a tone you feel throughout the entire facility. If you're navigating this difficult process and doing your homework, visiting facilities, asking hard questions - put Astoria on your list. It rose to the top of ours for a reason.
