They are inept and unhelpful. My mother is severely disabled and when she has to go in there, they find excuses to NOT take care of her and to get her out! Awful!! The head nurse says HORRIBLE things to her when mom is alone like, "your husband doesn't want you back. You need to go to a nursing home and stay out of the way."<br>UPDATE: A patient rep came by yesterday just before my Mom was transported to the PAM Wausau rehab facility. He was very nice and wanted to hear her concerns so the hospital could do a fact-finding mission to see where the communication broke down. When Mom and Dad had finished, he asked if there was anything else they could do. Mom asked that the hospital reverse their decision to privately charge Mom and Dad for the 4 prior days! The hospital said that Mom had not met the parameters to be a hospital patient anymore, so the insurance stopped paying!! My parents choices, at that point, were to either drag mom back home where we were not equipped to take care of her, OR privately pay until a rehab facility accepted her as a patient! It took some luck and until 2 days ago to find such a place, and until 4pm or so the NEXT day to find someone who could get her comfortably transported. I sincerely hope no one else, or their family is severely disabled and injured and has to go through this much stress, pain, and frustration.<br>PAM is wonderful so far and has a framed information sheet for the patient rep by the bed. They made a point of letting Mom know if she has any issues to contact him, or let them know and they'll help her contact him.<br>She has already had more therapy, wound care (ALL of her wounds), and staff checking on her (without having to even call the nurse!) than she did in her hometown hospital. Please do better Aspirus, not all your patients are going to be easy, and it isn't their fault. Thank you to those that tried.
