The rooms are hot & dingy, the therapy is minimal, and the food is an insult. But that's not even the worst part. The worst is how they neglect patients because of how understaffed they are. Equally bad, when faced with a choice between bending protocol or subjecting a patient to more harm, they will subject the patient to more harm. This leads to very adverse outcomes for the most vulnerable people.<br>I tried to find a better place for my loved one and found out that this is common to all skilled nursing facilities. It would have avoided us a lot of trauma if we had just discharged to home and accepted that things would be difficult there for a while.
