Poor care for seniors. No one is paying attention to my dying father. He fell out of bed and has a gash on his forehead. Medication due every 4 hours are not delivered in a timely fashion. Food here is garbage. Get it together people! Senior lives are just as important as anyone else’s.

My husband spent a little over three weeks at the Tucson, AZ State Vet Home to rehab after a severe case of pneumonia. All staff members were amazing and were very committed to providing my husband excellent care. My mom and mother-in-law were both cared for in similar private (very expensive!!) facilities. The care they received was nowhere near as good as that provided by the Tucson AZ State Vet Home. I commend the home for their outstanding staff and thank them so very much for all they did for my husband and our family. He is now doing well at home and I attribute much of his progress to the care he received at this facility. If I could rate them 10 stars, I would!

500 wing is in need of routine cleaning maintenance of outdoor smoking areas!! Buds, leaves, seeds and dead insects abound on the walk ways and sitting areas. Cleaning by borrowed brooms from staff is the only maintenance this outdoor patient retreat is cleaned on a twice per week event. The consequences are: tracker in fallen tree blossoms, pollen, seed pods and tree leaves. The result??? Yellow tree blossoms abound hiding enormous amounts of Palo Verde tree buds, and leaves and copious amounts of seeds and pollen. lm common areas, lounge and eating areas and of SIGNIFICANT importance, Private patient rooms abound with leaves, buds, seeds and pollen collection on furniture, floors, clothing, footwear and WORST of all individual bedding! My elderly Dad came here after a week in the hospital with a serious bout of pneumonia. Given the pandemic and COVID19, it is a bit nerve wracking not just to have your family member in the hospital but a rehab facility as well. I was thoroughly impressed with his care during his three week stay. The staff were incredibly communicative throughout given restrictions on visitation. He had his own room and they were incredibly cognizant of cleaning protocols, masking and ensuring their patients/residents were safe. While there was a positive case at the onset of his stay in his building, he was kept safe throughout and there was no spread of the virus. They set up family members to do "window visits" or will assist in video chats. Really top notch facility and campus.
