I currently live at Applewood place and I'm in the process of looking for another place to live. It's one thing to have the rules that HUD has which are there for safety but they are becoming very, very strict on what you can and can't do living there. You're not allowed to have a bird feeder, you can't have wax warmers or Glade plugins because they consider them a fire hazard, even though the wax warmers have a safety feature on them. The rules just go on and on and on, the booklet of rules is almost a quarter of an inch thick. I tried to explain to management about the bird feeders being beneficial to the elderly. If you read up on it being a birdwatcher helps curb dementia and is very pleasurably for people that are sit-ins I would not recommend this facility. People were told as recently as 6 months ago before they moved in that they were allowed to have a bird feeder now all of a sudden we're not allowed to. Also, the upkeep has become very poor in the past few years that I've been there.
