Terrible food. Terrible service. No ventilation. I would not recommend. Please read before admitting anyone here:

My mother is here. I, as well as other family members, have been visiting here often. I upon visiting only once, I noticed the above issues.
My mother cannot walk or do much of anything on her own. She had to use the restroom, called for help via the button that alerts the nurses—and nobody came. I took her myself, and in the bathroom she had tried pushing the button again—no help came. This makes me wonder what happens when I’m not there and the poor quality of care she receives. The food they gave her was NOT nutritious, went against her requests (she’s lactose intolerant and they gave her milk), and on top of it all—looked old. It’s very hot in the building to top it off. I don’t recommend.

Dr. Mukeshehandra Patel has been behaving unprofessionally for almost a year as of this writing. He refuses to allow a second medical opinion for my father, which I believe is illegal. He also refuses to provide a statement of incapacity, as instructed by my attorney, despite clear evidence of such during his many evaluations. Even his staff agree that I should be provided this statement. When I asked his staff why he refuses, all they could say is, “I don’t know.” Based on what I’ve witnessed at the facility, I have reason to believe the staff at Apple Valley Post Acute Care are afraid of him and the subject of workplace harassment. I believe he leads with fear and intimidation. He has created a hostile work environment resulting in the staff’s silence and compliance, which is explicitly illegal. The staff are very helpful and do their jobs well, but I am fearful for their mental well-being as a result of this treatment. I mentioned to one of the staff members that it seems Dr. Patel hates women. She replied, “he hates everyone.” Is that really a quality we want in a medical professional?

This behavior is highly unethical and dangerous, and violates his oath to do no harm. He refuses to return my calls. Dr. Patel is also manipulating my father in order to benefit himself financially. He orders procedures without my knowledge or input so he can continue billing Medicare/Medicaid. He is well aware that my father is incapable of making his own medical decisions, but he keeps coercing my father’s consent anyway.

I will be filing a complaint with the Medical Board of CA.

The standard of care from all team members have been exceptional! My mother has made tremendous progress through the physical therapy, nursing, and activities departments. Very grateful and blessed knowing my mother is in their post operative care.
