This place killed my mother. She had constant UTIs, they over dosed her on medication, they let her sit in her bed to the point where she was unable to brush her teeth she lost all her teeth, they lost or stole all her belongings that I took and sent to her, they did not get her up to stretch....they just left her in her room to die...then a nurse had the gall to say to me her favorite holiday is Xmas so if she goes today she will be happy. They knew it was during covid and they didn't care....the nurses are awful, the management awful, the owners awful....they should be SHUT DOWN. the hospital told me this was the worse case of pt negligence they ever saw....I contacted a lawyer...didn't fo anything and I'm still working on my case 5 years after her death. Eventually justice will prevail not just for my family but for all of those who have and will need it for their families!!!!!!

Great facility and kind staff. They recently added new amenities, like their Serenity Suite for hospice patients and an onsite wound care clinic (which is the first of its kind for any skilled nursing facility in Indiana, let alone the Midwest)!<br><br>Fantastic Rehab Director.<br><br>It's clear this team is working hard to give residents and their families a positive experience for all care offered. Thank you for all your great work!

Our mom wasn;t given 2 of her much needed medications. When we questioned it the nurse told us that the hospital never sent scripts with her for them to get them filled and as of today, 05/16/26 all they could give her was tylenol and that was "locked up and the person who can open the safe wasn't there at the time". They still hadn't gotten her her pain and other meds until the day we signed her out on the next day 05/17/26. They never gave her her inhaler and when she asked to do the nebulizer they told her they didn't have nebulizer machines there. They also took her to the dining room on that Saturday evening but didn't have portable oxygen to give her and about half way through dinner she got so out of breath she asked to go back to her room. When she needed to go to the bathroom they told her to just wheel herself to the bathroom and go. She has a high risk for falling yet they didn't bother to have anyone in the room with her just in case she fell. There are no phones in the rooms so we had no way to get in touch with her or vice versa, we live about 30 minutes away. The excuse we got was they don't have phones in the rooms because they "figure everyone uses cell phones these days so there's no need to have phones in the room". Sometimes mom has a hard time using the tv buttons let alone a cell phone. The nurse also said most nursing homes don't have phones in patient rooms. We told her that we know for a fact that others do as she has been in a few other rehab/nursing homes short term. have phones in the patient's rooms. We were just ignored. At one point while she was there she wanted to lay down to relieve her back because she was in so much pain and very depressed and needed to lay down. They told her it's not bed time yet and she has to stay in her wheelchair until bedtime. The food was barely edible, and looked really bad and mom said it was cold, it was a hot meal, the cold jello was melting. It's very hot in the entire building that even mom was hot, and she's usually always cold so that says something right there. Mom also said she was scared of the nurses.She said they were attitude was horrible and they were gruff with her. She's never been scared of any other nurses she's had anywhere else. There are no screens in the windows and mom's room's window was open to get a little air but wasps were coming in so Troy closed the window-(which was a real chore in itself)-and got rid of the wasps. The view from her room wasn't pleasant. There was a window boarded up, multiple tarps hanging from gutters. Panels and fiberglass on the ground. The building is run down. If you have loved ones who need to be in a rehab/nursing facility we strongly advise you avoid Aperion Care Arbors in Michigan City, Indiana.

The staff is great. My sister has been very well taken care of in her last days. They have been keeping her very comfortable, I thank them for that
