Theres a reason this facility has such a low overall rating . Worst hospital ive ever been to in my life aside from tbe actual mri technicians . I went to Urgent care , found out I have a torn meniscus in my knee after mri. Ordering dr sends hospital a referral to orthopedics marked urgent. Over a week goes by . They finally call me to schedule and tell me soonest is about 5 weeks out ! Thats how they treat things marked " urgent " ....so apparently they find it reasonable to force me to sit around in pain that duration when I was also referred to physical therapy who called to get me in before ortho even attempted . Cant start pt without seeing orthopedics! Place is a compete joke . They will neglect you in any way they can . Drive far away and stay away from this hospital. When I recently moved here all the locals warned me of this place being horrible. Unfortunately they were correct and not exaggerating at all .

I can only do one star, I wish it was a negative star. Horrible experience. If you can hold out for an hour, go to Memorial

I've been here id say at least 20 times in 3 years. Sometimes service is great. Others, not. My biggest complaint is I got prescribed a med by neurology for brain zaps, right? I already have low bp, and this med, its other main usage is to treat high bp. Like what the heck?? Why prescribe a high bp treating med to a person who runs low? A person who at 23, has had a 90/60 and lower reading!!! I feel and felt like crud, like death times 100.

They billed my insurance, got their money and then sent me another bill. Apparently the bill gets split up and then miraculously one half of the billing department "never got" my insurance info.
5k to my insurance and 300 to me.
Took almost 10 minutes with someone with a very heavy foreign accent to try to explain and they never properly explained how one department in the hospital doesn't have access to billing information. I ended up googling it and found out they just "sometimes split the bill and make the customer pay for outside contractors separately". So, two groups bill separately for the same procedure, but one group isn't located at the hospital, and doesn't have access to the medical records to retrieve insurance information? Fascinating! So, even though I gave my insurance card to the people at the hospital 3 separate times, one part of the billing department just... DOESN'T have access to that information? So HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO GIVE IT TO THEM?
So, your standard procedure is to bill people's insurance and then send them another bill and, what? Do they seriously just hope they think it's the copay? Is the patient supposed to call the debt collector and give THEM my insurance? What was I actually SUPPOSED to do, if giving the hospital my insurance information 3 times on different occasions wasn't good enough? Also, when I asked at the hospital why I received a bill when my insurance was on file and they said "IUNNNO".

But it's totally normal, they swear! It's just that the hospitals contracts radiologists and the bill is separate!
It was an accident that they couldn't find the insurance information on record, they promise! This is totally normal procedure! They really tried to just say "well someone at the billing department screwed up, so it's not our fault." Ignoring the fact that the person who did it ALSO works for the same hospital and is meant to have access to all the same info.
The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing, but let's ignore that they both take orders from the same source...

By the way, when REAL professionals need outside assistance to get the job done, they bill the customer the full amount and then THEY pay the contractor themselves. Otherwise they make it crystal clear that there will be a separate bill. (No one told me in person, and the bills I received made no indication that ANY amount of money had been paid by my insurance at all)
I asked a blue collar professional if that's how it should be done and he looked at me like I was asking if the sky is blue.
"Oh, but it's different, it makes sense when we do it." <--- the hospital

Now they want to act like this a nothing burger of an issue. Never mind that they sent it to collections already. Oh, do tell me how this way totally makes more sense, and isn't meant to trick people into thinking they have a copay. It occurs to me this kind of situation can CREATE that kind of confusion, and I just want to be sure no one is being taken advantage of, intentionally or otherwise.
I'm sure they have some kind of explanation or excuse ready to go, good or not. I'm all ears. :)

In the end, I was able to get it cleared up and got the other set of bills paid by insurance. Though they never gave me an acceptable explanation of how one department in the hospital has my information and another doesn't. I found this lack of a proper grown-up response to be fairly disturbing. I wonder how many people they've tricked into sending them cash for things that insurance was meant to cover?

I don't ever plan on going back to that hospital ever again.
Maybe if the person on the other end actually spoke fluent English it would have been less confusing and irritating? Maybe if they spoke fluent English it would have, at least sounded more professional?
Either way, 0/5 stars if I could. What a disgraceful state of affairs. Hard to trust people with my health and medical needs when they pull this crap and then act like the innocent party, hiding behind call center employees thousands of miles away.
