The MELAS Chronicles
Feb 2026
I was in need of nursing services. When I first contacted Adara, I was erroneously told they didn't take my insurance and would help me find another company. That did not happen. I found out that they do take my insurance so I called back. I was cut off by the intake person rudely saying, "We don't have staff for the amount of nursing you would need." I assured the intake person I only needed someone to start my IV and I could take it from there. Once again I was met with rudeness and told, "We can't do that." I did extract that they don't have anyone, which I find difficult to believe as they had people a few weeks ago when my insurance supposedly wasn't accepted. I asked if I could go on a waitlist and once again was met with rudeness. They don't have a wait list, don't bother to call back. Anyway, it's fine if you don't have nursing or more likely that you won't make enough money off of my insurance to make it worth your while, but it costs nothing to be kind. Or have compassion. The intake person could probably use a crash course in customer service manners. There are better ways to handle the situation.
