I had a very positive experience with Accel. The staff were professional, compassionate, and attentive to the needs of residents and families. From the nurses and therapists to the support staff, everyone treated residents with dignity and respect. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. Communication with the care team was clear and consistent, which gave me confidence that my loved one was receiving quality care. I especially appreciated the patience, kindness, and genuine concern shown by the staff during our time there. I would recommend Accel to anyone looking for a skilled nursing facility that provides both excellent care and a supportive environment

My mother in law is currently in this facility. Its absolutely disgusting how the staff treat the patients. The facility is not clean and staff obviously are only concerned when a family member or auditor is present. Each time my husband mentions the mistreatment expressed by his mother, administrative staff dismiss it. They dont feed her or medicate her on time, they dont change her regularly and they punish her when they are upset at her complaimts. Today his mother didn't make it to the restroom and was berated for the mess she made. When my husband arrived she told him so he closed up the door and waited - sure enough a day aid barged in with force and obvious discontent but very quickly changed her energy when she saw him setting there. Additionally, my husband has waited for them to clean the shower for almost a week. He's watched the same nasty rags and dirty towels set in the shower floor for just as long. And there's still feces in the groves of the shower chair, left uncleaned! This place needs a staffing overhaul, better oversight and increased state involvement. To the owner- I know you read comments - don't refer me to call someone else for solutions - Go Walk your facility, make unannounced visits, set up your own internal audit team, show up at night, set in difficult patients rooms and see how your staff treat your clients! Take action and correct the issues before you find yourself in a very difficult position.

I cannot begin to describe how unethical and deceptive upper management is at this place. They continued to change their stories and refuse to acknowledge what they had previously promised our family right up to the time of my mom's departure. While rehabing from a vertebrae fracture in her back, our mom's stay was extended after she was dropped during physical therapy, causing a fracture in her leg. No restitution, no trying to make things right because of this. Unbelievable how unprofessional this place is. After being promised an incident report, they are now refusing to be forthcoming with the results of their investigation into the incident. They even interviewed our own private nurse, then told us they had no record of her statement. I have reported them to Health and Human Services, which is now conducting their own investigation. Beware of this place! Do NOT subject your loved one to their lack of care standards. While several of their caretakers really care for their patients, they are not supported by a management team that has the welfare of the patients as a top priority. In fact, it is pitiful and pathetic!

My mom is in rehab here for a back injury. When she was about to come home she was dropped while doing PT therapy and fractured her knee cap. So now to add to her back brace, she has a leg brace sticking out straight. She's 92 and they had her doing an exercise requiring her to take her hands off the walker and couldn't stop the fall with a gait belt on her. I gave it a 2 because there are some very caring nurses and PT /OT therapists. Also, Dr's order were for her to not sit up to have a shower with her broken vertebrae, but to have a sponge bath. They gave her a shower 3 times! Bad communication! There were other little things that happened such as withholding medicine because her blood pressure wasn't high enough with a wrist bp monitor, but when the nurse checked it manually it was fine. Some of her medicines are very important for her to have and they would withhold them and not come back to check unless I demanded it. Also, some meds were just forgotten and if I wasn't there she would have missed them. After the 2nd fall, she was bedridden for a week and had to be changed in bed. She wasn't always cleaned well, and we had to point that out. They don't have enough staff to always answer the call button soon enough. We have someone there 24/7 and it's a good thing, but I never imagined PT would have a director who would ask a person that's 92, with some dementia, to do this kind of exercise! You really must watch out all the time. Also, they violated HIPPA because they gave me the wrong patient's file to take to her doctor's appointment.

I recently stayed at Accel Nursing Facility, it was a first time for me staying at a nursing home facility & at just 45 years of age I feel like I did my due diligently in my search, as I have heard horror stories about nursing homes my entire life. Well this place is fairly new so that facility itself was really nice, the physical therapy department was outstanding, everything else was an absolute joke. Day shift did a great job trying to catch up from the horrible night shift. After I waited for more than 2 hours to get my pain meds not once not twice but every time, I complained. Well that only made things worse for me. The head nurse from day shift came in & made every excuse for her team instead of taking accountability for her team. As an elderly person they would lay there and scream, no one checked on them. One lady just wheeled herself in my room & tryed to climb in bed with me while I yelled for help. If it wasn’t for a gentleman visiting his loved one she probably would have succeeded. The facility ordered me a wheelchair after I said I didn’t want one. They did it anyway, charging my insurance. Then the wheelchair they brought me had no foot pedals nor padding on the right arm rest, had it on the left but not on the right. WTH? Worst place in Brazos county! Physical therapy probably one of the best.
