After more than three continuous years of care, the Cueno family, owners of this facility get A++++++++. They have never once let us down in the level of care our Mother has with her Alzheimer's, which is challenging as all know. Mom is safe, relaxed hair combed, clean clothes EVERY SINGLE time we have stopped in and those times have varied immensely over the years. Walking into their home is liking walking into my own family's home. Sparkling clean, INCREDIBLY good and tempting smells coming from the kitchen, fresh fruit available every time I have been there. I often kid with Beth and tell her to get a room ready, I am ready to move in and be pampered the way she does our Mother. As Mom's illness has progressed over the years, Beth and Gloria have shown us methods that help Mom know we are there, better methods of "reaching" her, something I do not feel I could have learned on my own. If you are looking for a PERFECT place for a parent who needs more help than the family can provide, there is nowhere else I could recommend. They are gifts from heaven in my book!

This is an update to my 2/2014 review. More than 3 years after moving our mom to A & D, I'm still amazed by the OUTSTANDING level of care offered by the Cuenco family. You could look far & wide to find a more caring environment but I doubt you'd find it. Their house is always scrupulously clean; mom is always clean & well groomed. The only time I smell anything is when meals are being prepared & it smells GOOD! If I could live there myself, I would!! Food is freshly prepared & dietary restrictions aren't an issue - they cater to it (mom is diabetic). The Cuenco family is friendly, compassionate, genuine, & clearly love what they do. It shows in every aspect of their Board & Care home. I count my family's blessings the day I was introduced to the them. Mom couldn't be in more capable hands & we all take comfort in knowing that she, in the depths of Alzheimer's, is in such a loving environment. The Cuenco's also have a Board & Care Home in Concord. I've no doubt it's as FABULOUS as their Antioch home.

If I could give 10 stars for A & D, I would!!! After seeing mom's large-scale care home of the last 6 years go steadily downhill, with outrageous rent increases, I made the decision to move her to A & D on 2/3/14. What a BLESSING this home has been. Gloria, the owner, & her staff couldn't be more helpful, kind, gentle, compassionate & caring towards my mom. They've gone above & beyond to make mom's transition to a new home the best it could be. They keep their home extremely clean, the food is freshly cooked, not the canned & frozen stuff mom was getting prior to the move, & they make sure mom is constantly tended to, being vigilant about her needs. Mom, who suffers from dementia, has "acted out" a few times but Gloria & her staff expertly interact with her to soothe her. I'm glad I'm the first to give a review here. The folks at A & D are, without a doubt the BEST at what they do.
