“Apartments are over-priced, there is only 1 small, slow elevator for about 100 people and meals are served on the third floor, so mealtime it takes forever to get anywhere. If you have a stack of money and nowhere to go, this may be the place for you.”
“The staff at the Villas go above and beyond in the care they give to the residents that live there. The kindness and compassion is astounding. What an exceptional group of people”

How families pay for independent living in Colorado
Most Colorado families start by paying privately, drawing on savings, pensions and retirement income, and often the proceeds from selling a home. Long-term care insurance, when a family holds a policy, can also help cover assisted living, memory care or independent living costs, though the amount and timing of benefits depend on the specific policy. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid and Attendance, a benefit that can be applied toward the cost of care in these settings, and it is worth asking a veterans service officer whether a particular family situation meets the requirements.

About these figures
Computed on October 23, 2026 from the 7 communities listed in Pueblo, 146 public family reviews on Google, Yelp and MyLivingChoice, state licensing records and, for nursing homes, CMS Care Compare. The best-rated list ranks communities by average family rating weighted by how many families have reviewed each one, so a 4.9 from three reviews does not outrank a 4.7 from two hundred. No community pays to appear in the best-rated list or in these figures; sponsored and partner listings in the directory results are marked as such. Figures refresh as listings and reviews change; the written summary was last revised September 25, 2026.
