Winter Valley Residences

Winter Valley Residences is an assisted living community located in Milton, Massachusetts, offering studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments on a 12-acre wooded campus in the center of town. The community houses approximately 160 senior individuals and couples in a cluster-style design featuring five smaller communities of 32 apartments each, with spacious common rooms, sitting areas, and laundry facilities in each building.

The campus is centered around Knowlton Hall, where community activities take place several times a week. Meals, laundry, and housekeeping services are provided as part of the program. An on-site Activities Coordinator organizes lectures, interactive games, exercise classes, health clinics, and religious services. Many original artworks donated by artists through The Art Connection are displayed throughout several buildings.

Residents enjoy regular van trips to shopping, dining, local recreation venues, and cultural destinations. During warmer months, residents gather outside at the pavilion and garden. Most activities are offered free or at a nominal charge. The community is located less than a mile from the Milton Public Library, the Milton Senior Center, and MBTA bus service.

Financing is available through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). For residents meeting HUD income guidelines, apartments are available at a rent equal to 30 percent of the resident's adjusted gross income. Winter Valley is developed and managed by Milton Residences for the Elderly, a non-profit organization that has managed affordable senior housing in the Boston, Quincy, Dedham, and Canton region.
