Windmill took care of my wife during part of her challenge managing Alzheimer's. The staff there is hardworking and patient with the patients and residents, even during times when I probably would have probably lost my self control. (Folks: That is one tough job....) The Memory Lane unit, in particular is where I visited my wife on a consistent basis between October of 2023 and August of 2024. I told my wife and Wind Mill staff that my goal was to have my wife available to watch our daughter get married. Well, on that great day in June of 2024, my wife was dressed, with make up and all, ready to go and watch our daughter get married. I can tell it was a team effort, and the Wind Mill staff in Memory Lane took the time to get her ready. She made it. In short, Wind Mill allowed us to fulfill that mission: See and experience our daughter's marriage.... Promises kept. Thank you Wind Mill.

I have been at Windmill Manor a total of 4 times the first being in 2016. I have always felt the staff were compassionate, caring and very professional. The food was not quite as good this time around but I attribute that to a change in kitchen staff. I have always been impressed with their physical therapy staff and their compassion for my pain and especially any inability i might have at the time. As the saying goes "No pain no gain" and it is so very right on; however, the therapists at Windmill Manor make sure not to push you beyond your capacity. I also feel they have an excellent physical therapy room.

The care is adequate at best. I do believe the staff truly have good hearts and intentions but are extremely understaffed and not fully trained. I hold the administration of this facility responsible for the negligence in my mother's care. I am amazed at the gross incompetence of the administration in this facility. Upon moms arrival it was hours before she was checked in, and paperwork was reviewed with me. But I'm assuming the paper work was lost because it was another 4 months before administrative staff contacted me. They stated they didn't know I existed so obvious they didn't see all the paperwork I signed. They are unprofessional, having accused me of trying to take advantage of my mother's limited income with no grounds for such an accusation. When meeting with the billing person to explain the horrors of the previous year my Mom and I went through trying to get my her the care she needed I was forced to do so while looking at her wearing a ridiculous seasonal hat, which was completely disrespectful to myself and my mother, given the seriousness of the conversation. I have never received any documentation of the charges of my mother's care except for a post it provided to me at this meeting, no statements or explanations of charges. During my mother's stay I have had to ask for her room to be cleaned of the excrement of another patient after it had been allowed to remain on the floor, walls and furniture for a week. Mom has been denied necessary oxygen by prolonging testing and the loss of doctors orders. Many personal items have been lost, including her glasses for which we have had to order replacements. She does not have access to drinking water regularly which has resulted in excessively dry skin. She has lost her ability to walk for lack of regular exercise. The room she was just moved to was not properly cleaned before she was moved into it. There are thick cobwebs by the ceiling, the air vent is black, the floors have a thick layer of grime where they meet the walls and the hand rails on the bed she sleeps in are almost black with grime. I am removing my mother from this place as quickly as I can but even then the social worker forgot our conversation and denied the facility I would like my mom to move to access to her information even though I had given permission for it to be given. I feel everything could have been better with better leadership, proper training and adequate staffing. This is why my mom never wanted to go into long term care and I wish I could care for her at home.

Absolutely love the staff, the facility and how much my brother has turned around since he arrived just a few days ago!! Today was his birthday and at breakfast the staff lead the room in singing happy birthday, at lunch again they sang, later some cake was dropped off... They are wonderful!!! So grateful for the care he is receiving and the physical therapy to get him back out into the world. THANK YOU!
