Visiting Angels is a wonderful place of employment! Lori, Sheila, Quinn, Kevin, Chanin and the rest of the awesome staff make you feel so appreciated and that you are part of the family. Being a caregiver is an amazing job that allows you to feel like you are helping people and changing their lives for the better every day! Visiting Angels offers very flexible schedules and other great benefits! Highly recommended as a caregiving agency for your loved one and highly recommended as a place of employment as I have been a caregiver with them for 6 years and have loved every minute of it!

My dad is a Vet with hours paid for by the VA. I was very transparent that he had multiple dementias and had ISB (inappropriatesexual behaviors), which we recently had hormone injections to treat. They said they could work with us and try different caregivers. I have a special needs adult who recently started having seizures plus a child at home, so my caregiver days are when I make appts for them, which I have expressed, and some times I have specialist appts that have been 6 months in the making. Caregiver #1 was on her phone while I showed her around, etc and even took a call and complained about spam calls (first half hour here). She was vaping on my porch before coming in, she didn't engage with my dad (I actually thought she fell asleep a few times) and when he was exit seeking she just proclaimed loudly "You can't leave. No, you can't go outside." instead of redirecting or engaging. She basically sat on the couch and watched TV. Second caregiver was engaging and seemed to work really well, but my dad was really attracted to her (which he is with me a well) and he kept pulling down his pants and more (ISB is difficult). Again, a few weeks ago he had hormone injections, it just takes a while to kick in. This caregiver had been late several times with no call from her nor Visiting Angels, so when she was late I didn't think anything. At 50 minutes late, I called just to make sure everything was ok. My kids were waiting, my special adult had a seizure yesterday and a broken or sprained foot and I had an appt at OrthCincy. This was today (Wed morning). The staff at Visiting Angels said they notified the VA [sometime] Monday that they would no longer handle his case due to his behaviors. I was pretty upset and let them know this was extremely unprofessional -- they came out, did intake in my home, assured me they could work with me, made me sign a Client Services Agreement and then didn't have the courtesy to let me know I didn't have a caregiver at all this week?? My dad has home based care with the VA and 3 members of his team were here yesterday morning. We could have at least gotten things started for another service!! I could have canceled appts or made arrangements. We did need an alternate caregiver when #2 called in sick. She took him on walks, engaged with her. I didn't get any feedback from them regarding ISB with this person. When I asked about the possibility of other caregivers the rep said that they had one close (caregiver #1) but I didn't like her (WTH). No options for men, no discussion, just terminate the service without any courtesy. I actually discussed with the owners' son who did my intake that I had local caregivers (in my city) that would go through them for employment if needed (there are a few male military vets here who are also caregivers with credentials). CAREGIVING IS HARD. This service was supposed to alleviate burden, not add to it. I totally understand protecting employees, I absolutely understand their decision, but I'm the client, the VA is the third party payor, and at the least I should have both been notified. This was my 11 hours of respite from a 168 hour week, and who knows how long it will be before I have another one.

Navigating the intricacies and emotional turmoil of end-of-life care can be a daunting task. But in these overwhelming circumstances, Visiting Angels emerged as a beacon of hope. They provided not just a service, but a sanctuary of comfort, understanding, and professional aid that we valued far beyond the monetary cost. The peace of mind and respite we received during our trying times was utterly priceless. Anela, our primary caregiver from Visiting Angels, embodied compassion and dedication. Her nightly vigil over our mother assured us that we were not alone, that a caring guardian was there to ensure her comfort throughout the darkness. Anela was not just a caregiver, she became part of our extended family, her unwavering support acting as a balm on our emotional turmoil. The office support staff, Lori and Sheila, were pillars of administrative efficiency and empathetic communication. Always a phone call away, they helped organize the web of care provided to us with professionalism and personal attention to detail, reflecting the ethos of an organization that truly understands the importance of human connection in healthcare. At the helm of this exceptional team is Kevin. His decades-long tenure in the industry permeates every aspect of Visiting Angels' services. Even with minimal direct interaction, his leadership was palpable in the service quality, the problem-solving capabilities, and the patient-centric philosophy that we experienced. It is clear that his guidance has instilled a sense of empowerment in his team, creating an environment where caregiving translates to more than a profession but a calling. In summary, the level of care we received from Visiting Angels exceeded any tangible measure. The emotional comfort, professional care, and peace of mind we experienced were simply invaluable. Visiting Angels, with their compassionate and high-quality service, genuinely helped us through an impossible situation. They were more than just a home care agency to us, but a haven for families like ours navigating the turbulent journey of end-of-life care.

Sarah is amazing! We look forward to her visits! She is so friendly and genuine, honest, and sweet. Very easy to get along with and truly a pleasure to have. My grandma is very picky about people who come into the home and she truly enjoys her company
