About Visiting Angels Cape Cod

Visiting Angels Cape Cod is a locally owned in-home senior care agency based in Harwich, Massachusetts, serving Cape Cod, the Islands, and the towns of Wareham and Marion. The agency provides flexible, personalized home care support designed around the specific needs of each client, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

The agency offers a range of in-home care services including hands-on assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and transfers for seniors with physical care needs. For those experiencing isolation, Visiting Angels provides companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation. The agency also offers respite care for family caregivers, specialized support for cognitive decline and memory care, post-hospital discharge support, comfort-focused care for seniors with serious illness, end-of-life presence and personal care, and in-home support for veterans and surviving spouses.

Care plans are fully customizable in terms of scheduling and duration. Families can choose the days, times, and length of visits, and can adjust arrangements as circumstances change. The agency can arrange anything from a few hours per week to overnight coverage, 24-hour care, or live-in care, allowing seniors to remain in their homes rather than transitioning to assisted living facilities.

The care process begins with a free consultation conducted in the client's home, where care coordinators listen to the family's situation and help identify what support would actually make a difference. The consultation covers not just immediate care needs but also how the senior enjoys spending their day and what they wish to continue doing independently.

Visiting Angels Cape Cod's office is located on Route 28 in Harwich. The agency works to connect clients with local resources, including each town's Council on Aging, senior centers, transportation services, and meal programs. Caregivers help families navigate what additional benefits and services they may qualify for through regional aging services agencies.

My 95 year old mother moved in with me unexpectedly. I contacted Visiting Angels and they TRULY ARE ANGELS. I don't know what I would do without them. From the moment I contacted the office and talked with Kim, I've never worried. Kim handled EVERYTHING seamlessly, and the process was so easy and comforting. Any changes/concerns were handled, mostly by Kim. Kim was equally as concerned about me as the caregiver and making sure I had the support I needed to take care of my mother in addition to my Mom having the support she needed. The entire office, Paulina, Nadia, Jodi - are all SO RESPONSIVE, kind, and helpful. Our "angels" are amazing. Quickly become invaluable to the household, my mother's well being and MY well being - I didn't expect for me to be as well taken care of. Visiting Angels truly knows caring for the actual client includes the primary caretaker. Thank you for all your support, compassion and caring.

Went on a job interview and was treated like I was an Asian candidate and not a caregiver candidate. First question out of their mouth was if I make "American food." Define "American" first. This is a melting pot society. But to her she assumed I must make Kimchee and the like for people. Also I've lived here all my life, speak perfect English and shouldn't be evaluated on my race but my qualifications. Was so floored by how differently I was treated than a Caucasian friend that I was just like, Guess job discrimination still exists. Sad reflection on Visiting Angels.

Exceptional care! All of the caregivers are very devoted to the people they care for. They are very reliable and go the extra mile. We are so very thankful for the loving care they took of our father. I highly recommend them!

I cannot speak as to the actual work that the Visiting Angels do but I will tell you my experience with these caregivers this past December of 2021. My 98 year old parents were living INDEPENDENTLY in their own home with minimal help. The situation had escalated over the holidays to the point where my sister and I did not want to leave them alone despite their refusal to leave their large home in Brewster. At only an HOUR OR TWO’s NOTICE, Nardia, the manager at Cape COD Visiting Angels took time from HER holiday schedule to do a home assessment to get the ball rolling so that we knew we could safely leave them in their home with help. My father, however, shortly thereafter took a nasty fall and developed pneumonia. He passed away a few weeks later and Mom will go to Assisted Living. I cannot stress how KIND, CARING AND RESPONSIVE the Visiting Angels were to our special needs. They gave this retired nurse some peace of mind and THAT was priceless. Our parents are our priceless treasures. I had complete trust in the Angels but circumstances led us down a different road. If you are in our situation, call them! COVID and all, they are up for the task. Elizabeth Gramer, R.N.

Visiting Angels is a top notch nursing agency here on Cape Cod. They have serviced both my mother and father for 3 1/2 years. The 3 CNAs we currently have are high caliber. They are sensitive, caring, empathetic and professional. In addition Visiting Angels office managerial staff is terrific. They care deeply about getting home care right & tailored to the client. Our family is over the top pleased with/ grateful for the Visiting Angels service. We have dove tailed Visiting Angels care givers with our BroadReach Hospice team. Both organizations are the gold standard locally. I am a nurse of 44 years. I have never worked for/ with such excellent health care professionals.
