My Mom lived at Village Green Conroe for 7 years before she passed, and I could never adequately express my appreciation to the owner, management and employees who took such good care of her. When my Mom moved in, Nish was the director so I got to know her personally. She was 100% dedicated to the residents and went way above and beyond, not just to provide them with good living conditions, but to create an environment where they felt valued and respected. She listened closely to any concerns I had and took immediate action to address them. Management frequently makes surprise visits to the various locations to make sure their high level of care is always in place. VG only hires the best employees. Two of the ladies who took care of my mother really stood out and I am still in contact with them. The employees treat the residents with care, patience, consideration and respect, no matter their behavior. They are trained well on the best way to care for patients with memory care issues and are taught to remember that they are people with feeling and emotions. In 7 years, I never heard anyone raise their voice to a resident. They don’t disagree or correct them when they are wrong. They redirect residents, minimizing anger and helping them find peace when they are agitated. There are fun activities like music, movies, parties, nail painting, dancing, etc. for the residents to enjoy. There are only 16 residents in the building, which is a great thing. Like all Alzheimer’s patients, my Mom was prone to confusion. The small number of residents, established routine, home-like environment, and beauty of the living spaces which were always clean and smelled good, create a calm environment for residents who are easily overwhelmed. Most of the residents stayed at Village Green until they passed. That alone is a testimony to the type of care provided. Residents were brought out into the open area to sit in recliners with soft blankets covering them, and that continued even as they neared the end of their lives,. No one wants to spend the last part of their life in a room by themselves. At Village Green, your loved one won’t have to. The VG philosophy works, and it gives residents the respect and care that they deserve and need. As a family member, your concerns and desires will be fully addressed and necessary adjustments fully implemented. After 7 years of experience, I can tell you there is nowhere else I would choose for a loved one with memory care issues.
