Dad lived here for three years and was very happy and knew he made the correct choice. From the moment you arrive you recognize it’s in a gorgeous setting and I think that goes a long way in helping the residents feel at home. The gentle rolling hills covered in oaks and nearby vineyards make it one of the most scenic spots in Fairfield. Talk about first impressions! Dad lived in both the assisted living section as well as memory care so we got to see most of the services offered. The rooms in both areas are good sized living spaces and we never felt cramped. The staff was excellent in both areas and Dad always felt the personnel there really did care about him. They always remembered his name even when he was just walking around the facility and passing in the halls. With that many residents, I was impressed. I wish I could remember everyone there who deserves recognition; they really make a difficult time more manageable. The food service was overall good but did seem to be the only thing I ever heard complaints about. I ate there often enough to know it was good but not great but then it’s not easy keeping that many folks served with hot, gourmet meals on-time. As far as activities go, I thought they offered a variety of things going on almost everyday. It seemed there was always a performer coming in to sing, or a bus taking residents to local spots or exercise classes going on. Dad passed recently and of course that’s tough but I have to say in closing that everyone at Rancho Solano was most helpful and understanding; my last impression is as good as my first impression! Thank you.

My LOs recently moved in to assisted living at The Village at Rancho Solano. Mgmt has been great so far. They are responsive to our concerns. Our LOs have enjoyed the food choices, and the array of activities and services offered on-site to promote enrichment stimulation. The levels of care can be confusing and that's the area they could simplify a bit more. But satisfied so far with this facility and the care our LO is rcvg.

I’ve been uneasy about some of what I’ve seen at The Village at Rancho Solano. One thing that stood out is that the director(?) brings her own small dog into the memory care unit and calls it a “therapy animal.” The dog is clearly nervous, barks a lot, and runs around unpredictably. I even saw it knock over a resident’s water once. Staff looked uncomfortable, but the director just laughed it off and said the residents “love the chaos.” It didn’t feel professional or safe. For a place that’s supposed to prioritize calm and structure, it really rubbed me the wrong way.
