We (My brothers and I) could not have asked for a better place for our mother to be in the last months of her life. She was treated with love and kindness with empathy and compassion.
The place is clean and odorless unless it was meal time and then you could smell the good food.
The rehab side was a bit more chaotic than the convalescent side. On the convalescent side there was routine with the same staff and routines that worked wonderful for her. The food was delicious and mooooore than enough, along with afternoon snacks and root beer floats on hot days.
Bingo, sit and stretch, religious services games and often entertainment. Along with holiday parties and celebrations. Each holiday the place was decorated perfectly.
We donated all of her clothes to VCRC after she passed away because some of the folks there are dropped off and not visited or shopped for much. They made sure everyone that needed something new got something new.
There was even a male nurse that prayed with her when she asked.
Magnificent care….

Caused a friend to have a severe injury that they can no longer work again. Sad excuse for a recovery home. Ignoring cries for help from staffs and patient and even caused another friend to break a leg. One actually died because they hit there head so severe it cracked open and brain matter went everywhere.

My mother-in-law had the joy of living here for 7 years. She LOVED it so much. The community that is created there for the residents, from bingo, to church and beauty salon services. They treated her like family, so much love shown. I could not recommend it enough.

Avoid this facility at all costs. They are consistent with one thing and that is not administering patients medications correctly, medications that the patients life LITERALLY depends on. The nurses here do not deserve their licenses and should have them revoked.
