When my mom entered a private memory care facility, we immediately entered her name on the wait list for the cottages at Thornapple Manor. We waited a year but were able to get a room in November of 2024. From in-take to daily care, from food to daily activities, and from the seasonal golf cart rides and staff that truly cares, we could not be more impressed or at peace about mom’s care. We toured other Medicaid facilities. 😳 The Cottages of Thornapple Manor were clean and happy filled with residents who seemed peaceful and well taken care of. What solidified our love of the cottages was the end of life care and support we received. My mom sadly passed just a year into her stay at the Cottages. They were an advocate for her when we were overwhelmed. They provided updates and kindness when she was in pain and lashing out, and not giving up when we felt “failed” by hospice. I can’t say enough about the professionalism with just the right amount of personal kindness. Thank you for loving on Doris and being the family she needed at the end. 💜

I’m only giving 1 star because I can’t rate .5 star. The 1 star goes to Annie and my brothers driver! The management staff are two faced. They absolutely refuse to help my brother with any type of therapy. My brother was in the mend when he went there. He was suppose to maintain his PT/OT to help him get stronger to come home. Instead , the Aids left him in his bed 24/7. He came out to go to the hospital or Dr apts. family was there as much as possible. They wouldn’t let us do anything. Well tried not to let us do anything. We done it anyways. He would go 2 weeks without a shower. He had a stage 4 ulcer on his buttock. They gave him a suppository at bedtime. Even told no. Can’t with his wound . Well guess what? Yup, stool got into his wound , and he hasn’t been the same since. My brother has since passed! He refused to go back there! He absolutely hated it there!

Best run nursing home I’ve experienced from being a nurse of 32 years. Every department collaborates with the others to bring out the best outcome for every single resident. When that time comes that you need to find your loved one help this is the home away from home that you can feel good about ❤️
