Where do I even start… my mom and dad just moved into the retreat at South Haven, and our experience has been beyond excellent. From the most informative professional tour that was conducted by their leasing agent Natalie, to the most attentive and fast customer service and support offered by their manager Mandy, their team made my parents move in fast and stress free and I couldn’t be more than grateful for all their help. Mandy and her team made this decision be worth it! I can’t put into enough words the kindness and respect we were treated with, best elderly community!

A wonderful facility expertly run by a management team that truly cares about its residents. The apartments themselves are spacious, clean, and well maintained. The common areas within the building are spotless! There's a peaceful vibe within this 55+ community. The staff we've encountered during our process, which have included Natalie, Bianca, and Monique have all been personable and professional in every sense. And the manager, Mandy has been unbelievably helpful and has repeatedly gone the extra mile for us in so many areas. Bottom line is simply this. If you're seriously looking for an over 55 community you can call home on a long term basis, this is the place! We were on a waiting list for a while, but it was definitely worth it! From staff to maintenance, I would rate it all five stars!

I am extremely dissatisfied with how this apartment complex handles its pet policy, specifically the excessive and punitive fines related to dog waste. Residents can be fined $200, $400, $600, and even more if a single instance of dog waste is missed. What makes this policy especially unreasonable is that there are no warnings given at all. You go straight to a massive fine. The complex claims it can track exactly which dog left the droppings and which resident it belongs to, and once they decide it’s yours, you’re fined automatically. There is no benefit of the doubt, no opportunity to explain, and no grace period. This policy completely ignores real life situations. For example, at night it can be extremely dark, and despite doing your best to clean up after your pet, it is genuinely possible to miss something you cannot see. Additionally, many residents travel and have family members or friends walk their dogs while they are away. Even responsible pet owners cannot control every action of someone helping them out, yet the resident is still hit with an enormous fine if that person forgets to clean up once. The lack of warnings, combined with the aggressive fine structure and surveillance-style enforcement, feels less like maintaining cleanliness and more like a money grab. Responsible residents are treated as guilty immediately, with no discussion or understanding. Pet owners should absolutely clean up after their animals but this complex’s approach is excessive, unforgiving, and completely lacking in basic fairness. I would strongly caution any pet owner before choosing to live here.

I have lived at Retreat at Southhaven Farms Bldg A for 3 years. It is a really beautiful complex and area. I love living in Payson. I have lived in a two bedroom on the 3rd floor and now a 3 bedroom on the 1st floor. Both are really beautiful. The utilities are very low, especially on the 1st floor. There are also so many amenities! The people are all so friendly. The office was wonderful when I needed to move to the 1st floor! They keep up the property very well. I have had very few requests, since the building is so new. What i have submitted has been handled very quickly. I would strongly recommend this complex.

We have extended family who live here. It is an awesome 55+ community! It’s clean and the people are friendly and decorate their doorways. The family room, playground, dog park, garden planters, etc. are awesome! I feel like they’ve thought of everything. They have two bedroom and three bedroom apartments available (not sure if they have bigger units?) but it has definitely been a fit! The floors are a bit thin which is definitely apartment life, but they’ve done all they can to make it a homey place, including beautiful decor in the lobbies and scents that help the apartment building feel clean even with allowing pets. The Retreat is across the road from large horse pastures with a beautiful view of the mountains (if you live on the east side). Walking the single lane farm roads nearby is the best. There is a bus stop on the road right in front of the Retreat that offers the 821 and 822 buses that take you into Payson or as far north as the Provo Frontrunner Station or BYU, respectively. The local hospital is just down the road which is great if you have family with health problems living here. Definitely an awesome location!
