My mother has lived in this facility for several years and was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2021. Until recently, we’ve been very happy with her care.<br><br>Last month, I visited from three hours away and arrived later than usual—after 7 p.m. on a Saturday—due to traffic and construction. When I walked into her room, I was heartbroken. Her dinner tray had been taken away, but she still wore a dirty bib, and the strong body odor made it clear she hadn’t been bathed in days.<br><br>Only one caregiver, Meagan, was on duty. She came in briefly to give my mom her medication and treated her with coldness and clear indifference. There was no warmth, no dignity—just a job to be done quickly and without compassion.<br><br>What Meagan doesn’t know is who my mother was before this disease. My mom was brilliant, strong, and fiercely independent. She started with IBM at 18 as a secretary and retired 30 years later as a regional manager—all while raising three children on her own. She was the neighborhood nurse, the problem solver, and the glue that held our world together.<br><br>She’s fading quickly, and she doesn’t have much time left. I’m asking—pleading—that the time she does have be spent with dignity, kindness, and respect. Would you want your loved one treated like this?

Floor Coverings International has worked with The Horizon several times and the professionalism we see is outstanding. When they need to make changes they get right with it, making the environment for the residents a top priority. The way I have witnessed the staff interaction with the residents is simply outstanding. If you need a place for a loved one to stay, give place a call. Kari and her team will take wonderful care of them!

This is an absolute amazing facility for your loved ones to call home. The staff is friendly, kind, caring, and compassionate! They offer all inclusive care with activities, laundry, meals, and spiritual care. They are great with memory care residents! It is a very secured facility with locked doors in an alarm system so you don't have to worry about your loved one taking a jog! I highly recommend giving them a call if you are in need of a placement for your family member.

I just put my dad in here and they have been awesome with him. My dad is not a people person and when he moved in there he warmed right up. Staff are cool and nice even manager is nice. Thank you horizon for making mine and my dads mind at ease.
