This facility was nice, clean and inviting until we went into the memory unit to see a loved one. Right as you enter the door the overwhelming urine smell hits you. They had what appeared to be all the residents sitting up front and most must have had diapers on that had been full for hours. There was food left lying on a table next to puzzel pieces. Liquids left on floor and floor was so sticky our feet stuck to it. It appeared there was one person working taking residents back to rooms and one sitting against wall on a computer not paying attention when one resident bent over playing in a liquid on the floor with her hands then got out of a wheelchair trying to walk across the room. A visitor with someone else close to her went to grab her and put her in a chair. Then an employee from outside this unit that came in looking for someone went over to help. Then and only then did one on computer walk over. If there are only two people working, one really, in this unit that is unsat. As many residents they have in there, there should be more workers present at all times. Oh, and when one resident was moved from a chair there was bodily fluids left behind that were not properly wiped away so someone could use the chair. I was appalled at how dirty and stinky this place was behind the locked doors. I am reporting this to my family members loved ones. No facility that gets the money they do should have loved ones living like this.

My mother required assistance with her daily activities and initially resided at another Legend facility in Gainesville. The experience there was, frankly, appalling, with several documented issues including theft, willful property destruction, and neglect. We contacted the Legend corporation with our concerns, but they provided no satisfaction. We relocated her to the Charter assisted living facility, and the difference was remarkable. After several weeks there, we were dismayed to discover that Legend acquired the Charter facility and renamed it “The Glenwood.” However, our concerns proved unfounded. Thanks to the exceptional dedication of Danielle Chumack and her remarkable team, my mother received excellent care until her passing there at the age of 94. I can't give Legend a recommendation, but I can highly recommend The Glenwood as long as Danielle remains in charge.

A family member moved into Charter earlier this year. I have been very impressed with the quality of life and care she has received there. I’ve seen many ALFs and appreciate that they have many staff members with years—decades, even—of tenure at this facility! This is rare and speaks well of management and ownership. Staff is generally personable and caring, not condescending to the elders in their care. The facility itself is airy and bright, in a lovely quiet, semi-wooded area. It is conveniently located near I-75 for family who live away.

Our mom was at Charter Senior Living for almost 2 years and the quality of care and professionalism is exceptional. The staff is extremely caring and kind towards each resident. We can’t say enough good things about Danielle and her marvelous staff. This community is very much a family, and they make it very easy for families to feel connected to their loved ones through events and socials.

Charter Senior Living has provided my father with a safe, caring environment in their memory care community. The staff truly go above and beyond, handling difficult situations with kindness, patience, and professionalism. I’m especially grateful for Danielle Chumack, the executive director, who is incredibly responsive. Whenever I have a question or concern, she’s quick to offer assistance, making me feel reassured that my father is in good hands. I also want to recognize Nurses Shay and Holly, who have been true angels, showing incredible compassion and care for my father. Additionally, Elizabeth, the Memory Care Director, and Elizabeth, the Nursing Director, are both outstanding. Their dedication and expertise bring great peace of mind. It’s a comfort knowing that the entire team is focused on providing the best possible care for my father. I highly recommend Charter Senior Living!
