I live across the street from The Glen, which is under construction. If people can leave reviews for a place that's still a muddy field, I can leave a review to say that the construction has been horrible for us in the adjoining neighborhood. For weeks when construction first started, we had trucks outside our house as early as 5 am, beeping and rumbling, despite noise restrictions. Trucks have also frequently ignored the agreed-upon restrictions on their use of Marchbanks Dr., going down the side they're not allowed. There's been constant noise and dirt everywhere, animals including rats trying to find new homes in our yards, and it's an eyesore. We have years more of this noise, dirt and giant trucks coming and going down our little street. It feels like the Glen offered some kind of incentive to leave positive reviews to attract more residents, because it's bizarre for 29 people to leave long five-star-only reviews of a community that hasn't even been built yet when most people can't be bothered to leave reviews for actual places they like. It's nice that the people responsible for selling CCRC units are nice to the people who have already started to put money against a place they want to live in a few years (it's kind of their job). But whoever is overseeing construction at the Glen is not making sure all the rules are being met, and it's been a miserable experience for the rest of us so far. And there is no reason to believe it'll be any better for the neighbors or neighborhood when the Glen finally opens.

Denise DiBetta was my Residency Counselor. When my pre-deposit number came up, I wasn’t sure I was ready to take the big step to reserve a unit. It wasn’t even built yet. I was thinking I probably would retain my pre-deposit number and defer the residency decision until the construction was further along. Denise contacted me and described the process and the timing to make this decision. She was never pushy. She was cheerful and friendly and provided a degree of flexibility that I didn’t think was available. She asked about my home city and state and what it was like to live at 9,400 ft elevation in a small ski town in Colorado. I started sharing some pictures with her and she seemed to understand what a big decision this would be for me to leave my beautiful mountains and small town to join the new Glen at Heather Farms community. She made me feel comfortable. We became friends. Because of the way Denise handled me, responded to my questions, researched the options, represented my interests, and described the advantages of reserving a unit at this time, I decided to take the plunge. I have no regrets. I think Heather Glen will be a wonderful community. I look forward to becoming a part of the original group of residents. Thanks to Denise.

My parents had moved to a continuing care retirement community in Florida late in life and it had served them extremely well, so we signed up for one of The Glen introductory presentation luncheons. While we feared something like a time-share sales pitch, we were very pleased with and impressed by the presnetation. It outlined the pros and cons of the concept honestly, acknowledging it was not for everyone. Absolutely no hard sell whatsoever, just information. We put down our very modest refundable deposit to get on “the list” and receive updates. During the ensuing two years, our positive impression has only been enhanced by the candid, honest and timely responsiveness to our questions. Most recently, as we were firming our commitment to the community, Mariza Rocha and Tracy Gimbel walked us through the process, explaining it thoroughly (and patiently) and addressing any concerns we had. They were particularly helpful as we coped with the concept of moving from our treasured home of 43 years to a totally new and different environment. We get a strong sense that, while these ladies are competent professionals, they are also caring advisors with the best interests of prospective residents at heart.

This is a very interesting time for us … navigating next steps of where, when, and how we will spend the rest of our lives. We are so grateful for the opportunity to consider The Glen at Heather Farm. It seems like the perfect plan for this next season of life. We were anxious about this decision, and with a list of questions and concerns that were a bit overwhelming! Meeting with Mariza Rocha, Residency Counselor, put any worry to rest! Her style, her approach … it’s a mix of amazing knowledge of the community and company, along with passion for this industry. This, coupled with her “therapeutic” delivery, allowed us to feel both relieved and excited! Truly a wonderful experience considering we were a bit apprehensive and nervous. We are hopeful the next steps allow us to move forward at The Glen and, when the time is right to make the move, would love it to be in this amazing community! Mariza, thank you! Hans & Lauren

My wife and I began our interest in the Glen at Heather Farm about 3 years ago when we first submitted our pre-construction deposit. We were so glad we did! Since then, we've been continuously informed of the Glen's progress through a number of in-person presentations and many on-line up-dates. We cannot tell you how much we appreciated this! We will be making our move to the Glen after 34 years at our current address. Earlier on, we had considered different types of senior communities in or around the Walnut Creek area, such as the Rossmoor development. But we realized if we made that decision, after a few years we would probably need to make yet another move. The Glen seemed just right for us. As recommended by the staff who always encouraged us to make the most informed decisions possible, we toured its sister property, Stoneridge Creek in Pleasanton. We thought the grounds were beautiful, but the property was, perhaps a little large for us. We also looked at much smaller communities but felt they didn't provide enough open space to offer a more "intimate resort" feel. The artist's renderings and variety of apartment floor plans convinced us that the Glen would be just right. Also having the property located within vibrant Walnut Creek and within walking distance of Heather Farm itself were huge added incentives. We would like to say more about the wonderful Glen folks who we heard from or met with on many occasions. Barbara Gilbert, the Glen's Director of Marketing is one. Her presentations have been excellent. Then there is Tracy Gimbel who is our Residency Counselor. One of a kind! Not only is she extremely experienced and knowledgeable in her role, but just as important, she has the patience of a saint and is equally supportive. We consider her a friend.
