About Sundara Senior Living

Sundara of Round Rock is a memory care community in Round Rock, Texas, specializing in dementia and Alzheimer's care. The community is locally owned and operated, serving residents with a small-home model that houses only sixteen residents per home.

The community emphasizes personalized care centered on individual preferences and routines. Staff members attend to details such as how residents prefer their hair styled, their sleep schedules, and personal food preferences. This approach is based on the philosophy that smaller environments minimize visual and auditory overstimulation and reduce disorientation that can occur in larger facilities.

Sundara provides emotional support and guidance for families and caregivers navigating dementia care, along with resources for day-to-day management of symptoms and challenges. The community operates with a focus on treating residents as family members rather than commodities, backed by an ownership team with a twelve-year shared history.

The community is locally owned and operated by a team committed to consistency, accountability, and flexibility in care delivery. The operators distinguish their approach from corporate senior care models by prioritizing genuine care relationships over marketing and ancillary services.

I really needed a place I could trust in sending my beloved family member. I was referred to Sundara by a dear friend who had her mother attend this facility for times she’s needed to be away. I just have to be open about my worries and that this facility contracts employees without appropriate background checks. I am under the understanding they have multiple employees who have extensive and very SERIOUS charges. I do not and will no longer be allowing family/ friends or anyone I know attend this facility. Everyone should be very vigilant and do your work before ever allowing this to happen. It’s a true shame!

A good friend recommended this place for my mom, and the director was very helpful in getting us set up. They really made me feel like everything was going to be okay. Unfortunately, once my mom stayed there, they did a very poor job handling her medications. Her doctor sent over the orders, but because they couldn’t get their fax machine to work, they refused to give her the medication. My mom shouldn’t have been denied her meds just because their fax machine wasn’t working. I also asked multiple staff members if they knew how to switch out her oxygen tanks, and everyone confidently said yes. But when it actually needed to be done, suddenly no one knew how. My sister had to drive in from Dallas just to switch it out because the staff wouldn’t do it. It was incredibly stressful. I left her there hoping for some peace of mind, while I was out of town for work, but instead it caused even more worry. My mom is elderly and a heart patient, and they didn’t take any of that seriously. Do not recommend this place if your parent has significant medical needs—they are not equipped to handle that level of care, despite claiming they are.

Sundara Senior Living has been a true blessing for our family. It’s not just the facility itself—it’s the incredible staff inside that makes all the difference. From the moment my dad arrived, they have treated him with the utmost care, kindness, and respect. Every staff member goes above and beyond to ensure he is comfortable, engaged, and well cared for. What truly sets Sundara apart is how accommodating they are for families. Navigating this stage of life with a loved one isn’t easy, but they have been so patient and understanding, guiding us through the transition with compassion. Knowing my dad is in such good hands gives us immeasurable peace of mind. If you're looking for a place where your loved one will be treated like family, I can't recommend Sundara Senior Living enough. They are simply outstanding!

A year and a half ago when looking for a place for my Mom, it was important to me to find a caring, nuturing environment. Sundara was highly recommended. After speaking with one of the owners, Kelli, I could see why. She gave me so much helpful information and was so empathetic when we needed it most. We love the homey environment. The staff are friendly and caring. The house manager Karen goes above and far beyond every single day to provide a great environment for the residents. Mom considers Sundara home which is the highest compliment possible. Thank you to Sundara for caring for my Mom. I would highly recommend Sundara for your loved one.

It's really hard to summarize just how great a home Sundara has been for my mom. We moved her into Sundara last year after trying to keep her in our home but quickly realized we were not going to be able to give her the specialized care she required. Kelli and her fantastic staff have guided, encouraged and helped in too many ways to list. Knowing your loved one is being cared for by professionals trained to care for their special needs is such a relief. Visiting my mom has become such a joy, we are all able to enjoy her and no longer have the heavy burned of 24/7 care. The staff has always treated my mom with such dignity and respect. I appreciate how they give each resident specialized care, there is no one size fits all approach. I recommend Sundara to anyone else who has a loved one who needs memory care.
