My dad has been at this facility for 4 months and has fallen 4 times. The fall last week resulted in a fractured hip requiring rod placement for stabilization in Plano. Staff did not get him help for over 24 hours after he repeatedly complained of severe pain. He was admitted to this facility because he is a fall risk and we trusted them to keep him safe, they did not. They're even interfering with a transfer to another facility by his POA. Think twice before allowing your loved one to reside at Stillhouse. It looks like a really nice place but it's not safe at all.

This is the worst facility I have ever dealt with. My father was admitted on February 17 and since then he has had four bad falls. This last fall he ended up with a broken hip and a brain bleed. They were aware my dad fell on the 18th and they did not do anything about it until the 19th when they finally xrayed his hip and discovered it was fractured. Only then did they decide to call for an ambulance service to take my father to the ER. Once my father was released from the hospital I attempted to move him to a new facility and they absolutely refused. No matter what avenue I took as my father's POA they wouldn't allow me to take him. They even reported me to APS for trying to KIDNAP my own father!! My father does not want to be in that facility. He has told several family members he wants to leave but we keep running into problems. Why is Stillhouse so hell bent on my father not leaving that facility? This morning the new facility contacted me saying Stilhouse was sending his papers over so we can move him, yet when I called a few hours later and asked what's happening the director of nursing informed that they were not sending his papers because he "said" he wants to stay there. Who's talking to him? Why did he change his mind in an hour? There's something not right with this facility. When I have two seperate hospitals telling me to get my father out of that facility asap it does raise a lot of red flags. As far as I'm concerned Stillhouse Rehab is holding my father hostage and I will not stop until I have him in a safer environment.
