Where do I begin. The list is long. First we were told this is a 5 star facility and stays fully staffed. This is not truthful at all. First night my friends were there, they let the Mr. hit his head. They don't answer the bell for long periods of time, leaving them in wet and nasty Depends. They do not care what the Mr and Mrs want to eat. The staff and kitchen have been told about it several times. The Mrs is on a soft diet. She actually got pizza that was blended to mush one day. Not edible. She doesn't like the other food, either. The Mr can handle finger food but wasn't getting enough. When I complained about it, a young man came in who was very rude. He brought in a very full plate of Chinese food, which is not finger food, and he proceeded to shove that food into his mouth. I told him he was not a baby, to allow him to eat like a man. Then it was discussed that there was a "special spoon" "somewhere" and that wd work. Haven't seen it yet. That young man continued to shove food in and say that next time he had to eat in the dining room. My friends do not want to. There are unanswered questions regarding insurance . They made the Mr wear other mens clothes and he was mad. He has plenty of his own clothes. I have been a good friend and advocate for this couple and filling in for family. The administrator and some staff have been rude to me and don't want to even acknowledge my concerns. Granted, there are some very nice staff including laundry supervisor and PT staff. Yet, the lack of concern of others should be addressed. There are not enough staff at night. The Mrs has rung that bell for long periods of time for necessary attention, and sometimes they don't even come. The Mr couldn't stand being in the nasty Depends so he got out of bed wandering around to find the bathroom. That is dangerous for him. This is the sweetest couple who never cause trouble and they should get their money's worth. Please don't respond with those form letter responses as in previous Reviews. Just please DO YOUR JOBS. Update...I have been banned from this facility because of my concerns. They do not want transparency.

I’ve had two family members who lived at Southbrooke, and both times we had very good care. The staff, nurses and Drs were very caring, supportive and informative. Facility was always clean.

I know someone that was in here for less than 4 days, and they were not properly given their medication as prescribed by the hospital. Patient relapsed and had to go back to the hospital by ambulance due to this neglect and flagrant dismissal of a specialist's instructions. They then lied to the ambulance personnel saying they didn't know this person was in distress until they called 30 minutes prior to ambulance arriving, when it had been reported to staff 7 hours prior to them being called. Filing complaint with TX HHS and will be contacting an attorney. Beware the artificially inflated rating on this facility - if you read the feedback a majority is from employees that work here.
